Title: Power Requirements, RRC-1258 (Control Side)?
Post by: K8ND on 2025-09-07, 21:54:45
Has someone here measured the power (i.e. current) requirements for the RRC-1258 box? The manual does not say, and only mentions that a 1A supply is included. I cannot imagine that the box requires a full 12V 1A supply.

I'm assembling a portable/transportable terminal, and trying to get an idea of how large a battery I should include, and how long it might last.

Hi

The manual says Current drain at 13,8V: App. 160 mA up to app. 600 mA depending on audio level and ev. Back-lighter.

the RRC itself needs 160 mA then it depends on if a control panel is powered from the RRC

Thanks Mike!

I see that in the RRC-1258 manual, 'Rev. A40 - 2019 sept 18' page 18, but specified for IC-706, TS-480, and 'RS-232'

My use is with K3/0-Mini, which is powered separately. Would the 'RS-232' note be applicable?

Is this the most recent manual?  Am I missing something?
