Title: radio on tx without powered remoterig
Post by: hb9edm on 2010-03-25, 08:13:11
Hello!

My setup:
remoterig MKII and FT2000

When I turn on the radio at the remote side (manual operation) with the remoterig attached (mic + audio) but NOT powered, the radio begin TX. When I power on the remoterig the radio stop tx and it can be used normally.

All the system works on LAN.

Is it a normal situation?

Best regards

I have to use two powersupplys because of disturbing if RRC and K3 TRX ist on the same supply.
Wenn the RRC powersuply stop working the K3 TX is keying.

Did you check disconnecting the mic-cable or the rs-232-cable alternating- any influence on the problem? There could be two reasons:

1. some of the TX/RX are switching to transmit-mode when some pins of the rs-232-interface are going high or low, on some of them you can stop that function in the menu-settings.

2. unwanted PTT-activation is done via mic-cable, this could be a soft- or hardware-issue of the box.

Hope this will help!
