...How can I use it if I have both com port already in use?
I have the mkII version and the ts-480.
The com 1 is used for the amplifier and the com 2 is used for the rotator control.
I'm very interested on the rrc-micro but I don't want to sacrifice the amplifier or the rotator, any idea to solve this problem?

Hi
there is only 3 serial ports in the RRC so there is not so much to do. On the other hand there are lot of equipment avaliable for remote serialports for example Tibbo DS203.

Hi Guy,
I don't understand your reply.
Now, with my setup, I can't use the rrc-micro client because my radio is not connected with cat on the remoterig so.... NO pc-client for my shack.

I didnt understand why you were talking about only 2 comports
since the MKII as 3 ports (2 real and one via ttl to rs232) and the pc-client
has 3 virtual ports , but without CAT connection it want work

TTL for the display
COM1 for the amplifier
COM2 for the rotator control
no more ports available, no CAT so no PC-client connection possible.

Hi again,
in my opinion the CAT can work
Example (I know it can be easier done)
setup with PC-client
on LOCAL PC you run ARCP-480, CAT is setup to the first virtual port = com0
on LOCAL PC you run PstRotatorAz, rotator is setup to the second virtual port = com1
on LOCAL PC you run Expert-1K software and is setup to the third virtual port = com2
on REMOTE Side RRC-1258 MKII ttl port goes to the ts480 ttl port
on REMOTE Side RRC-1258 MKII com1 goes to the rotator control
on REMOTE Side RRC-1258 MKII com2 goes to the expert-1K comport
on REMOTE Side you connect pin3(tx) and pin 5(Gnd) of the TS-480 comport (on front) to pin1 (RS232-RX) and gnd to pin4(gnd) of the expert DB15 (also connect alc and ptt from 8P minidin to this connector, The expert will auto follow the radio.
