Title: TS-480 CW-FSK-AFSK-PTT-CAT connections
Post by: ON4AOI on 2010-08-29, 14:31:29
Hi All,
here another drawing with all connections for CW-AFSK-FSK-PTT and the possibility to control the expert-1k / webswitch remote or local with software like DX4WIN-HRD etc,
Kenwood ARCP-480 doesn't work for the webswitch or expert-1k because the communication is not like standard software.

To make life easier standard 6p Mini Din extension cable is used
and for the 8pin Mini Din you can find on ebay Apple DIY printer cable (8 pin mini DIN male to open end 2 metres long)

Hello Guy,

I have since the last 1½ year been using RemoteRig for remotecontrolling a TS-480.
I use the first (old) version of the RemoteRig equipment.

I also have a remote controlled PC for Digi-modes. Does the system you describe make
it possible for me to eliminate the remote controlled PC?

If you send me your e-mail I'll send you a system drawing showing my set up.

Best regards
Peter

Hi Peter,
yes it can without remote-pc if you have a very fast connection
otherwise rtty (what I tested) fails.

I am redrawing the complete system (and testing out in the meantime)
to have it working VIA remote or at the remote location and also via pcclient
without plugging in/out cables.
System has also 2 webswitches - 2 rotators - and all can be used with the software
you like even ARCP-480 works via remote. B4 anyone sends me mails about how to setup
ARCP-480 I can tell that you need extra HARDWARE ($$$) from MoxA to do it .
