Title: Yaesu FT100D + RRC 1258Mk 11
Post by: G3TKF on 2015-06-20, 01:15:08
Hi all

New to the group and first posting (hopefully this is the right place to post this query!)

I have an old FT100D with separation cable and want to try it as a remote rig - mainly because it is not being used for anything other than a 70cms local chat radio!
I've tried a search on this group and can't see any recent reference to anyone using this combination.
I realize there are some suggested mods with cross patching some links etc but given the age and relatively slow comms rate for this radio has anyone successfully used this combination ?
I am about to buy a RRC1258mk11 unit and if I can't get the FT100d to work I will probably go down the FT 857 route

Any comments from the group greatly appreciated

Thanks 73

Hi
Have you seen this info http://www.remoterig.com/wp/?page_id=1704 (http://www.remoterig.com/wp/?page_id=1704)
I have not heard about any problem with the FT-100D, I do not think so many is in use as the separation cable is very rare.

Yes thanks - I saw that article on the link . I just wondered how many people had successfully achieved remote operation.
I have a separation lead that could be used... I bought it with the radio 15 years ago!
Seems not anyone reading this group .... (so far)
