Title: Rmoterig over a LAN over power line system?
Post by: kb4dxv on 2010-09-25, 00:55:02
I currently have my rig set up in my barn and I have a LAN (80mbs) over power line (Belkin) connection between the barn and my house. I have tried remote controlling the rig with this set up in the past using Radmin viewer 3, or Logmein/Skype. While it does work there are audio latency issues and a rather old PC at the radio end. Remoterig looks like it might be a better solution. Will it work directly over a LAN or does it "need" the internet in between? I have a wireless router for the lan at the house and can link with my Laptop PC but I can also just connect directly with the LAN. Sorry in advance if this is a dumb question but I am not a real computer wiz but this system looks like it could be ideal for my situation. Thanks

Hi
LAN only will work perfect
internet in between the RRC's is only
needed if you have to connect them at long distance
