Title: Fine Tune for 3G...
Post by: NZ5E on 2010-11-19, 13:09:43
I am hoping to use my Motorola Droid cellphone to provide 3G internet to the Remoterig Control Unit.  What settings in the Control Unit should I try for use with 3G?  Is the Audio Quality setting the only available tweak for 3G?

I have SuddenLink cable internet where the Radio Unit is located, but where my house is located about 3 miles away there are no internet options except some sort of wireless/satellite service.  I currently use my Motorola Droid cellphone tethered to my laptop for browsing the web and checking my email.  The tethering is supplied via a USB cable to my laptop.  I am successfully using the internet sharing functionality built into Windows XP to provide an ethernet connection to the Control Unit.

I spend most of my day in my pickup and it would be nice to operate from my pickup when I have a good cellphone signal.  I have already found that it does not work well in motion, but I am still hoping to use the 3G while sitting still with a good signal.
