For several months we have been running an IC706MKGII over RR very successful with Control in NC and Remote in NH. Now we want to have the Control in NC as K3-Mini and Remote as up graded K3 (with new K3IOB and K3SYN3As).
The procedure to change to a different radio is confusing. We need some help. The two units are located hundreds of miles apart.
Here is what we assume we need to do:
1. Change to the strapping as shown on page 222 of the RRC-1258MKII both units are the same.
2. We assume the Port forwarding will be the same as with the IC706.
3.We will communicate over the Internet so the configuration will be the same as it was with the IC706 formerly used. Unfortunately that did not work for us. Perhaps we made a mistake. Is this step correct?
3.Once we get the internet connections between the RRC-1258MKII units, we think the remaining tasks are those described in the K3-Mini manual "Operation through the RRC-1258MKII System".
Any suggestions or pitfalls?
Thanks for the help.

Glen,
Basically you change the red strapping and jumpers as needed. Then the radio type and any other settings that
are different, such as serial settings (compare the old and new ones). The internet settings can stay the same,
so it should work straight-off.

Thanks for the help Mitch but it has gone from bad to worse.
We have changed the strapping on both ends. We are several hundred miles apart. We only have the attachment as a record of our previous IC706 link up.

The manual doesn't address problem. The Control (K3-Mini) and Remote (K3S) are connected and we only hear the tone indicating some problem. How can we determine our IP addresses?
Are you where we can reach you by phone?
We have run out of time for today.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Glen,
I just got home tonight an am a bit tied-up. You can reach me tomorrow morning after about 11am. I am
in Florida and my number is 424-288-9171.
From what you sent, it doesn't seem like you changed the program mode to use the K3. We can take this
offline by mail and phone and get it working.
