Title: Up and Running
Post by: Michael on 2010-12-20, 23:05:06
Hi All:

I want to thank Mikael and those who assisted me with getting up and running.
Want to thank you for your patients as well.
Now that I'm up and running, I to am getting that extra . and - in my CW.
I've got my rig configured for straight key operation, as per the instructions in my owners manual (Yaesu FT-450) but I don't think that's responsible.
In the Control RRC Keyer Settings, I have the LF and Key delays set to my ping time of 130MS.
My weight is 30. Other than that, I don't know what else to change.
Could it be I'm getting an echo back from the rig?
I shouldn't be because my rig's keyre is set to off which you do for straight key.

Hi

Glad to hear you are on the air. Switch of the CW sidetone in the transceiver or increase the lf delay if the extra dit are comming from the radio.
