Post by: ct1fjo on 2017-08-07, 01:34:16
hi all

i've tried to put TS480 sending  CW via USB with no luck.
if i used a key connected to PAD it work's perfectly.
i've tried CW MACHINE, LOGGER32, N1MM and WINTEST and all do the same...nothing!

in FSK, USB work's fine.

control RRC
IO settings

IN0 mode   -keyer
OUT0 mode   -keyer
OUT1 mode   -I/O
OUT2 mode   -I/O
USB RTS as PTT    -Com 0
USB DTR as CW    -Com 0

radio RRC
keyer settings

PTT activated by Keyer   - yes
PTT tail delay ms [0-999]   -1

IO settings

OUT0 mode   -Keyer
OUT1 mode   -Baudot-rtty45
OUT2 mode   -I/O

Which kind of COM port are you trying to use? There are two types available in the RRC.

1) The serial server ports COM1 and COM2, where COM2 is usually used for CAT (except in
a "twin" configuration.
2) The COM3 (otherwise known as COMEXTRA) port that can emulate Winkeyer

There are several ways to send CW, so you need to let us know which one you are using, e.g.
- using the Winkeyer emulation
- using the CAT port
- using a separate COM port (COM1 or COM2)
- using the AUX input

My guess is that you are trying to use the Winkeyer emulation on COM3/COMEXTRA, since you
wrote that FSK works fine. In that case, all you need to do is to:
- change COM3 to Winkeyer
- Look up in Windows Device Manager which Windows port is COMEXTRA
- Setup your CW sending program to use Winkeyer on that Windows COM port

Hi Mitch

yes , you are right; i'm using COMEXTRA for FSK and CW.

i'm using , for test, the CW machine from logger32, and radio TX but don't transmitt CW

i've put all that you wrote, but with no results....

It should work just fine if you follow the three steps I wrote. I suggest that you try another
program using Winkeyer for CW to see if that works. Then at least you can see if the issue
lies with Logger32 or not.
