Title: TS-480, RRC, FSK via com1
Post by: dl9ndv on 2011-02-16, 11:01:03
Hello,

I try to use my homemade FSK interface with TS-480 and remoterig and I´m absolutely stuck.
The combination is: TS-480, RRC-1258II, CAT via COM2, FSK and PTT interface (with NPN transistors at TXD and RTS pins) on COM1.
Connecting the FSK direct to a serial port or a usb2ser adapter works fine.
Using remoterig (inside the LAN) everything (radio, CAT, CW) works fine. But no way with the fsk adapter. Neither with a serial port nor with usb2ser.
I tried the com1 modes 1, 3 and 5 at different baud rates. Nothing.
I browsed the forum, but found nothing. Perhaps I missed a thread? So any help, even a RTFM is appreciated.

Remember that the COM 1 do not have all pins connected, So I guess you need to have a Interface which is NOT powered from the serialports as most of the home made transistor interfaces are based on. Better build one with a MAX232 powered separately.

I would like to see how this is done.  Does anyone have a schematic or are there ready-made solutions?
