Title: Losing connection
Post by: Mitch on 2019-06-09, 01:39:20
Hi there can anyone help me out, for some reason each time i key the microphone the red light flashes and shows like the microphone is pressed on the Kenwood 480 Sat.

All the jumpers on both boxes have not been changed in any way.  I have tried two different power supplies to each boxes and also 3 different microphones with no joy.

Any help would be greatful

Hi Mike many thanks for reply, the RRC Control shows red light and also face of kenwood 480 Sat, i am not sure if the RRC Radio side shows red unless i ask my friend to have a look the next time it goes down.

Both antenna are OK and have tried different Mic's and power cables to RRC Control. Also noticed that my ddns.remoterig.com page does not show for some time after going down. Both boxes are the latest build.

Many thanks
Gary

Have you checked if you have RFI problem ? The only thing I can think of that can cause it is that your TX is causing RFI so either the Ethernet or the ADSL connection is disturbed. Try lowest possible PWR out or a Dummy load

Thanks i have tried all that you have said. The highest power i can work from radio is 30 watts at the moment. Will try next weekend with second Sat from car to if maybe problem is from the the Remote Kenwood.
