Title: Stange LAN behavior
Post by: K5WA on 2021-09-02, 20:50:57
Mikael,

I have a pair of RC-1216H on my ACOM 2000A amps and a WS-1216H for general power control.  They have worked well for a long time.  Recently, I see that only the RemoteRig devices on my LAN are very inconsistent in presenting their webpage or reacting to a button push.  I have tried changing the IP addresses and port numbers to see if that was in conflict and I have tried DHCP to see if that would help instead of static IP.  Nothing I've tried so far has fixed the problem.

Can you think of any reason why ONLY the RemoteRig devices would be very sluggish or non-responsive on my LAN?  The password check seems to come up perfectly but after that, non-responsive or VERY slow (maybe 30-45 seconds to load a page).

Thanks,
Bob K5WA

I had the same problem with 3 x WS-1216H. In the end I had to downgrade to the previous firmware version.

Graham-san;

I have the same problem on RC1216H and SPE 1K-FA pair recently.
Which version of firmware do you use?
I am still using v.4.26.

Akira,

I found that 4.59 and 4.7 did not work. I reverted back to 4.27.
I'm not sure why 4.26 does not work. Try upgrade to 4.27 perhaps.

Good luck,

Graham-san;

Thank you for your advice.
I went to the remote shack and updated to 4.27 over weekend.

It seems somehow improved but not drastically.
Also, I noticed that RC1216H was just like "breathing" about
every 10 seconds to send 1K-FA's control view.

I will let you know when I find out the cause.

Graham-san;

After countless challenges and tries, I have finally found the cause of the LAN Problem.
The unstable behavior of connection was caused by the LAN cable which looked just
fine from outside. My goodness!

Dear Akira,

Thank you for your hard work. I found this was not the problem for me unfortunately. I am still on previous version.
