Title: TS480 starts now no longer
Post by: dd0ul on 2022-02-05, 13:36:49
Moin,

I am still setting up my remote station, the devices are still next to each other on the table in the same network. I was done with the jumpers and the wire bridges, CW and microphone were already working last week.

Today I wanted to continue, but the TRX can no longer be switched on.

Troubleshooting:

The two RRC1258MkII are connected (using autoconnect)
Shack-Side:
Status
Name   Value
P5.4   ON
Radio   OFF
Connection status   OK
SIP status   Connected/transfering
Last SIP error   None
RTP status   Excellent(60)
UDP cmd status   OK(20)

Radio-Side:
Name   Value
P5.2   OFF
Connection status   OK
SIP status   Connected/transfering
Last SIP error   None
RTP status   Excellent(60)
UDP cmd status   OK(45)

That brings me to the first question: What does this P5.2 stand for? It's off.

If I try to turn on the TS480, nothing happens. If I pull off the 6-pin cable to the control panel and connect it to the 6-pin cable on the TS480 itself using an adapter, the TS480 can be switched on and off. Then even the microphone works - that is, via the SIP connection.

When I connect the 6-pin cable from the RRC 1258 MkII radio to the TS480, I hear a faint click in the TS480 control panel.

But that's all. Am I doing something wrong? Have I forgotten something important to do since last week?

Thanks for hints.

Hi

Auto connect should be off,

If p. 5.2 shows off the 6 pin cable is bad

Moin Mike,

thank you for the information.
In advance: the cable was actually broken. I thought, I had ruled that out, since I had connected the two cables with the help of an Ethernet extension adapter - which then worked. But: after I exchanged the cable on the TRX side with another one, it works. I do not have to understand everything ;-)
