Title: RRC-MICRO, TS-480, HRD, DM780
Post by: iz1err on 2011-08-04, 13:58:18
Hi all,

I have a setup based on RRC-MICRO on client (PC) side, RRC-1258 on the remote (RADIO) site, the radio is TS-480.
All is working fine about SSB qso, using HRD to control the TS-480, andio and PTT all ok.

Now I'm trying to use DM780 to make PSK qso.
I'm using the internal sound card of the pc connected with the 2 connectors (mic, speakers) of the RRC-micro via 2 audio cables, the audio is OK.
DM-780 is configured to use HRD to control the PTT and when I transmit, the PTT on TS-480 works.
The problem is that I also need to push the red botton on the RRC-PTT to enable the PTT on the RRC-MICRO side.
Is there a solution for this problem ?

Thanks.

Hi Piero,

I am neither a digi mode op, nor do I use HRD, but a couple of ideas from my side (after looking at the programs):

- You can use CAT for PTT and control DM780's PTT through HRD (settings in both programs)
- You can try using the TS-480's internal VOX (see DM780 PTT options)

Maybe someone else has tried this using the PC Client, rather than the RRC.

Hi Mitch,

tnx for your reply.
I'm using the RRC-PC client.
Yes I use HRD PTT and it works, but PC client only switch from RX to TX (allowing input from microphone) when you press the red ptt botton.
So we need 2 PTT syncronized: one on PC client (and this is the question) and one on TS-480 (it works fine via HRD PTT).

Hi

As the RRC-PC-Client only sends the data from HRD, to and from the radio without looking into the messages this will not work.
The PTT commands are sent to the radio but the PC-client will not shift to TX so the audio comes through. I know lot of people using Remoterig for PSK but they probably have the boxes and use a ptt input via USB or serialport.
