I have Remote Rig RRC1274B + USB Cable that I would like to sell.   I no longer need this device....i have used it many ytimes with CW paddle plugged into AUX connector.  It works very well.

In manual page 28 Advanced Settings it says K3 uses Yaesu settings F2000/5000/9000.  Your note says use Kenwood IF?  Please clarify.

Also I cannot find in the manual how to set the WebSwitch 1216H to interface with the RRC Remote box 1258 .  Is it required to interface to read the frequency of the radio?.  The WebSwitch does not have RADIO-RRC Settings page. 

I have port forwarded UDP port 13010 to the IP address of the WebSwitch and also have Automatic Control ON.  Also have set frequency range for two relays  80MSSB and 60M .  When I tune to those frequencies I cannot see any thing happen with the relays.

Also in 1258  Remote Box STATUS page ANTENNA-SWITCH IP = Not Connected.

I need a bit more info on how to setup.  Thank you.

When I hear that Three tone  Alarm  here it usually means that no connection can be made to the remote 1258 by the Control 1268.  ...and that condition usually means a problem with the SIP address . It happened here a few days ago after a power failure at the remote.  WHen power was restored the WAN IP Address of the router  providing connectivity to the internet had changed. I was able to discover the new WAN IP Address at the remote location as I have a PC there that I access by using ANyDesk remote desktop software.....and can access the remote router admin page by typing 192.168.2.1 in the Chrome browser URL line.

 For some reason the dynamic DNS service did not pickup the WAN IP change.  I disabled the Dynamic DNS  and manually typed in the new WAN IP of the remote site into the SIP Connection box in the Control Radio Settings page.  There was no Alarm and Connection was made normally.

Did you verify that you have the correct WAN IP Address for the router at the remote end and are you certain the port forwarding is still intact at the remote router  for ports 13000, 13001,13002.?

you should not get problems anymore as the App now is connected to your Google Account as every other App

Last update May 10 2023.

Anbove is the message on the Playstore webpage for the App.  I reinstalled the App and got new license number.
Still cannot connect. 

What's going on?

I now have been successful in setting up local CAT control of my K3 at the remote station.  I am using an Elecraft KXUSB cable from COM1 on the RR1258 Remote to the PC.  A virtual COM port 10 is created. I am using that port for local rig control and PTT using WSJT-X while I am at my remote. 

Com 1 set Mode 7 in Serial Settings.  For audio I am using a Behringer UMC202HD interface cabled to the K3 LINE IN/OUT jacks.

The only issue I have is a "slow" PTT.  The delay in making PTT is very noticeable but does not interfer with the decoding process.  My PC is ancient running Win 7.  There is a lot going on I guess with the inception on PTT from WSJT-X and the KXUSB Port and then the radio. 

I am wondering about the 1258 OUT0/1/2 settings currently:   CONNECT/BAUDOT RTTY45/ KEYER respectively.  I have tried changing OUT0 to PTT but it does not "take" when applied. 

Is there a solution for the lazy PTT?

When visiting my K3 remote site i want to operate 6M FT8 using the site Win 7 PC.   I can use the
Line in/out jacks on the K3 for audio but how to do CAT and PTT?

The COM 2 jack on the  RRC remote is occupied by the rs232 cable from the radio and i dont want to interfer with the cabling for the normal remote operation.  The COM 1 jack on the RR remote box is not in use.  Is there a way to use it to establish local CAT when i am at the remote site?

I cant figure it out reading the manual.

Just discovered my error.  When I entered the new IP address I also appended the PORT (i.e. 156.xx.xx.xxx:364 ) for the Remote box.  That PORT is forwarded in the remote router to the LAN IP address of the RR Box.  As a test I removed thet  ":364" and i connected immediately.  How come??   I thought a had to forward to the PORT for the RR Box IP?
Can someone clarify?
