Hello Mike,

OK, you are probably right. Do you see any way to get this sorted out? I have been very satisfied with RC-1216H as it gives flexibility on the move operations. Also wondering, if there is some other solution available what could do the same as RC-1216H?

I will also contact again SPE as this was one of my pre-requirements....

Hello Mike,

Thanks for your reply and comment. Nice to hear from you for a long time!   I was discussion this remote matter with factory earlier and they confirmed that the Taurus remote should work exactly the same way as 1.3k-FA, 1.5k-FA and 2k-FA. Meaning that all interfaces used with earlier models, should work too.

I have tested Taurus with very same RC-1216H box+cable as using with 2k-FA. Also Taurus manual showing exactly same info for this interface. Results of my tests shows that I can get connected to the unit via net and put ON both power switch and AUX switch ON. This also opens up Taurus amp which goes to standby mode. Same time the green indicator on RC-1216H (on right up corner) show Error and standby and operate buttons are not active and do not work. So, only those two relays can be controlled via remote.

I have now also SPE own remote client in use parallel with RC-1216H and I have activated the serial server on RC-1216H. This server function works OK. With this set up, I can control all functions OK with Taurus. So, the SPE own remote client (RS232/port) client works as it should. However, RC-1216H do only power ON and serial server function while all other functions are not working.

General discussion / SPE 1.5k-FA Taurus and RC-1216H
« on: 2025-08-20, 17:03:28 »
Hello,

Is any one using new Taurus with RC-1216H in remote? Asking as I have found an issue as is not working. The same setup (RC-1216H+series cable) has been working very well with 2k-FA (2nd version). Any idea what might be the issue with Taurus and RC-1216H. I have been told that both amps should be similar from remote op. point of view. Are they?

Hi all,

I just found this earlier discussion related to K3/0-Mini "tick tick" issue on emote use. I have also K3/0-Mini and remoterig boxes in use and having same issue. Noted this already when started using my setup, but it has not caused a big problem for me. However, today I got report as others hearing this tick tick sound on my transmit and started to wondering if there is already some fix defined to cure this issue? All hints and guidance is very welcome - Everything else has been working very well on this set up.

Hi all,

Good news;

The main issue is now solved and remote with RS-232 via RRC boxes is working well. It was not RRC configuration or cabling, it was the Term_2k_232.exe SW which was not supporting lower speed than default 115200Bd - After got enhanced version of this terminal SW, all started to work. Main point was to be able to get the baud rate set to in a way that also RRC can manage. It seems to work also with 9600 well - Now its time to do fine tuning for the set up.

Thanks to all who supported me on this journey!

Hi all,

Just checked older postings but did not find answer how to get 2k-FA cabled with RRC and if there is any need for config changes on RRC or/and amplifier? So, wiring schema and possible config settings would be nice to have.

I tested local remote with USB and it works nicely.

I tested also locally with RS-232 SW and it works OK.

With RRC boxes I cannot get it working. Now, it seems to be cabling issue or configuration (or both...)

Also wondering if the comms speed can be changed (default is 115200Bd). I have not found any menu for this. There is some menu for other port functions/speed but not for this RS-232.

All advices to get this remote working are very welcome?
