General / Nano Headset - Bluetooth!!
« on: 2014-12-14, 23:42:12 »
Hi all,

The microphone on the Galaxy S5 has quite a bit of space around it (echoey) on transmit - not great.

I have tried plugin headsets and also bluetooth headsets, but only the rx works, not the microphone. Whilst the rx audio works, the phone microphone continues to be used for tx rather than the accessory microphone.

Is there a way (or future update) to have access to an external mic like a headsetset used either plugged in or via bluetooth.

Has anybody done this successfully?

Cheers

Hi,

My father (VK4AES) uses the Android RRC-Nano app all the time. He has cancer and didn't have the energy to get to the ham shack any more. He used the MicroRig for a while (in hospital) and it was absolutely brilliant (with TS-480 head).

The Nano app has actually changed his life as he has started running a net in the mornings again from the phone.

The only criticism is that the phone mic is too sensitive and overloads if you speak too close. You can turn the radio input down but then I can't use properly from the TS-480 head.

I myself, have a Galaxy Express and the features work except audio rx (tx is fine), I have tried different settings but same result with various WiFi and hotspots etc. My father's phone (Galaxy S5) has no issues except mentioned above.

What happens after the one month trial? We have to keep this app going :))

I have tried connecting my TS-480 through my mobile 3G/4G hotspot and although it always triggers the radio oscillating on/off, I only ever once had a successful working connection. Normal WiFi always works.

I would love to see an expanded Nano app for the TS-480 with rotator control.

I would like to know how SM0HXB connects his Remoterig through the phone but using WiFi rather than phone 3G. I have a Galaxy express and can't forward a WiFi connection through the phones hotspot, only a cellular 3g/4g connection.

Hi,

I use my Remoterig via various WiFi connections with great results - Many thanks to Mitch Wolfson (DJ0QN) who spent much time helping me get going.

I now want to use my mobile 4g hotspot but the following happens:

1. I can turn the radio on (with normal sounding 1 beep) and this works.
2. I can turn the radio off also - no worries.
3

However, no info reaches my end on the controller and the TS-480 screen does not turn on. The on button works on the control head with the ALL good single beep, but no display.

Anybody using a mobile hotspot have a secret I can use on the mobile 4g hotspot settings :)

Hi,

I have recently set up (via internet provider) a static address because I have had no luck for months to set up dynamic address with my RC-1258s. I can get both radio and control units to talk with each other via wifi (wifi modules) on SAME modem with my TS-480 with no issues at all. However, I have never been able to get them to talk via different modems: Radio set-up at home and control somewhere else.

I have read - reread - studied - reread etc etc and just can't get them going.

I bought 2 new units because I though the old ones might be broken as so many people locally have tried to get them going - no luck. Then I sent all 4 units back to Microbit for a service and they sent all four back in working order - Still no luck.

Desperately want guidance.

Configuration, RRC 1258 / 1258 Pairs!
« on: 2013-06-01, 04:57:18 »
Hi,

I have had an impossible time trying to get the remote rigs going with a TS-480 over the internet. They have worked great over the same LAN. I think I broke one and bought another - still no luck.

Are the remote rigs sold in compatible pairs or replacing one is no problem?

Cheers
