I had that exact same issue. It was the USB cable. I do not thin they are robust as one might think.

OK. That worked. I too am using a real RS232 cable for Com 1. Switching to USB worked so that is useful to know.

Thank you both!

Hi Mitch and Mike

Yes, both are on Mode 7 and everything works well, but for the K3 Utility. It will not connect through any of the ports. Mike, I understood you could not update the firmware, but I thought the the utility program would work to upload macros etc. I uodated the utlity to the latest version as well and that still did not work. Not a huge issue, but I find it strange it will not connect over the CAT port when other programs work. Is is due to the K3/0 to K3 setup rather than K3 (Terminal mode) to K3?

The only other issue is that I cannot get the K3 Utility to connect using this setup. I am somewhat baffled as to why it will not if the CAT is working, but it may be an issue I am not aware of.

Dennis

I followed your tips (and from Mitch) on setting up my K3/0-K3/100 setup. Very helpful. Thank you. I am using DXLab/Win-Test and both CW and SSb are fine. I too have the issue with PTT not releasing TX when the RTTY message is finished. Did you find a solution?

The only other issue is that when using DXLab/Win-Test to send CW it is sometimes not possible to use the keyer plugged into the RCC (it triggers the PTT, but no RF). This only happens every so often and can be fixed by rebooting the Radio RCC.

Looking at this abit further, it appears HSPA will support download of 21 Mbps and upload of 5.76 Mbps with LTE at 100 Mbps and 50 Mbps. I suspect HSPA is a bit slow but LTE should be fine. Is anyone else in VE using Rogers LTE? 500 Mb is obviosuly not enough, but the rates to 5 Gb look reasonable.

Is anyone using this card with Remoterig? My remote location is now within HSPE on the Rogers network and I have been offered an excellent incentive on this card with 500Mb data.

I am not sure how much "air time" 500Mb will allow, but it may prove to be a good backup to what I have now.

Dave

I have a Kenwood AT300 remote tuner available (I purchased it for my 480, but will now go the K3 route). Contact me off list if interested.

Thanks John. This is helpful. I may have to go this route. A 5GB plan runs about $C70 so not to much difference in price.
