General discussion forum / K3 twin with RRC issues
« on: 2019-10-11, 18:57:15 »
Well i've been struggling to get a K3 twin setup running in the shack.
Here are the odd things:
- i am only able to get a k3twin working if the control side has the USB plugged into the RRC, i've have a 12v/4amp power adapter for it, but no USB plugged in means K3 switches off at radio side
- i am unable to get any cat data to com1, tried all possible serial choices (mode 6-7-11) but no cat data on the radio siden no cat data on control end

I tried cross, straight connection via breakout box, just in case cabling was wrong, still no result
Its an old RRC set , MkII though, but i'm starting to think the issue is in the RRC itself (the usb cable thing is weird)

Anyone experienced this.?

Hi Guy
I tried to see if I could send the width /shift commands via a pc connected to the RRC at the remote side, (I have com1-2 echoing so all commands go through the RRC)
No joy alas, looks lile the RRC is just not transferring the commands.

Hi Guy,
i noticed the same stuff.
but when controlling the rig in mode 4 yaesu, the issue with transverter remains the same, so could be a yaesu issue aswell.

Is the current webswitch limited to reading data from the HF bands or will it correctly reed the CIV info from a IC9100 for 2m 70cm and 23cm?

General discussion forum / Yaesu twin feature request
« on: 2011-03-20, 19:37:40 »
Have the yaesu twin running on a side by side ft5000 setup.
I wonder if there is interest in having logging software control integrated into the rrc
Only way to do it now it to use a Y splitter on the com2.

If com2 would be copying the com 1 data, one could easily have logging soft on com1, the rcc link ft-ft on com2, and on the other rrc use the com1 to controle an amplifier or bandswitch or steppir.

Anyone having same request?

General discussion forum / Icom radio remote switch on
« on: 2010-12-22, 15:34:11 »
A while ago someone told me the ICOM rigs do not support remote switch on via CIV
In the command set I found:

$18    $00   Turn receiver power OFF    When RX is already off, answer is still "Ok" from rig.
IC-R75: doc error (On/Off reversed)
IC-R8500: Power off, Activating sleep mode

$01  Turn receiver power ON    When RX is already ON, sending this command returns an error. Disappointing, but understandable.

So the code is supporting it. Has anyone tried this with HRD or other control soft for the icom radios?
