Configuration, RRC 1258 / RRC hostname in router
« on: 2021-03-02, 04:13:48 »
My RRC is identified in my router by the mac address. This is not very easy to identify amongst many other strange names in the list. Is it possible to make a configuration in the RRC so the router identifies it by a simple hostname?

Hi,

Is is possible to see any kind of history regarding the webswitch activity like restarts, or switching, perhaps even log in activity?

Thanks

General discussion forum / COM port & USB troubleshooting
« on: 2017-04-19, 04:04:00 »
Hi All,

Recently there has been plenty of discussion regarding USB/Serial/COM port troubleshooting. It can be difficult to guess at what the problem can be in these situations and plugging/unplugging cables can be frustrating.

Some time ago I had some problems with a USB serial connection from a radio to my PC. It stopped me from connecting to my logging program. However I found a FREE product that allowed me to view the comms on this serial line and with that I was able to find a coding error in a configuration file.

While I was searching for a solution I also came across a very neat tool that allowed me to view all installed/connected USB devices on my system. Every wondered why your new USB serial cable comes up as COM 26 or higher? Ever wondered why your USB device is not recognized? This tool will show you why this happens and give you a way to fix it.

I am sure that these tools can help to investigate RRC/USB connection issues as well as many other comms issues you might have.

Enjoy

Feature Requests / Feature request - VOX
« on: 2017-02-16, 09:26:13 »
I am using a Kenwood 480SAT with RRC SW 2.90 with Samsung S5 and RRC-NANO 1.5.1.

Connected via bluetooth in the car the nano makes a really cool accessory for drive time HF operation but the PTT is a problem.  I don't know how the TS480 manages the configuration but it would be really nice to have VOX with nano. I tried setting up VOX via RRC-control but the configuration did not stick when I then connected via nano.

Feature Requests / Feature request - tuning

I am using a Kenwood 480SAT with RRC SW 2.90 with Samsung S5 and RRC-NANO 1.5.1.

I find the VFO function a little too fast to tune by finger which means it is difficult to tune one step only. Is it possible to have a step up/down button either side of the VFO dial?
