I have just setup my remoter on a 7100 some 300km away from my home site. At the remote site I had both units working fine. I have bought the control and head back with me to the home site and have got it working all ok except for this issue. My remote site is on a 3G connection and works surprisingly well on audio both ways. The issue is I seem to be getting a heartbeat about once every 2 seconds or so, On FM it does not break the mute but I see the S meter bounce up but can not detect any noise or sound on incoming audio or my tx audio. On HF though this heartbeat gives a S9 hit on HF and it obviously effects the receive signal. Has anyone else found this. It worked when both units were at the same site perfectly and no heartbeat but now when live via the internet and 3G I have this heartbeat issue. Any advice would be appreciated

I have just got my 7100 working here at home but will be putting the radio end up at my farm some 300 km away. This connection is on 3G. The 3G is connected to a Draytec Vigor 2820 router and that router is configured with a dyndns so I can log in and look at a couple of cameras and a weather station. I have all this sorted with a port number as most of the devices are easy to setup for it. But this remoterig may be a bit curly. I am looking for advice on how to do it.

Do I just give it a fixed IP off my router up at the farm and then somehow direct the control end here to the dyndns but what about how to config the port. I can log into my router from home at anytime

Hardware, Cabling, Installations / 1258MK!!s and new IC-7100
« on: 2014-11-20, 04:36:17 »
I have just taken delivery of the 1258MK!!s and I have a late version the "modified" one by Icom of the 7100. I have read the info page about the mods board but am I correct that you can use the new version 7100 with the MK!!s WITHOUT the need for the 1258M pcbs that is required in the control end?. I read it that you need the small pcbs if you have a older 7100 and the new MK!!s.  Can someone tell me if I need this board as the local supplier here in Australia does not have any in stock but I can make the necessary board easily but I do need to know what the FET device number is and also the transistor they are using
