I am seeing the Radio/Remote RRC randomly restart. No errors. No one connected.
I was first told it was the power. I have tried a couple of sources. Nothing has changed!
Could it be the USB cable that is plugged into a weak USB bus?

I was told/tested that the web interface should have a password. That didn't fix the issue. So I am back to square one.

Other suggestions or ideas?

General discussion forum / K3/Twin Local and Remote
« on: 2018-11-12, 03:33:23 »
I'm slowly getting all of remote stuff working... I am also still wanting to work local (more than likely 90% of the time).  What is the best way to have both work?? I also want the RX/TX audio to work.  Tonight I tried to fire up FT8 and there was no audio on the local sounds cards.

When I have wanted to work remote, I seem to have forgotten one cable or another. It would be nice to not have to think about making changes... Any help would be great...

Hi Folks,
I have a K3/0 mini with a K3S setup as the K3-Twin configuration. I have a factory cable on the K3/0 mini hooked up to the RCC_Remote side. The K3S has a home brew cable hooked up to the RCC_Radio. The radio cable has been checked a couple of times. It is just a simple three wire cable (am I wrong ?).

I know that the "TERM" message usually means that there is a serial communications problem. So is there a way to test either side? The setup is on my local LAN. No firewall or router involved (as far as I know).

To the best of knowledge, both devices have the latest firmware. I am looking for any ideas or suggestions.

Hardware, Cabling, Installations / K3/P3 Remote and Local
« on: 2018-06-12, 01:25:12 »
Hi Folks,
I am new to the K3/P3 and K3/0 configuration. I have the K3 with the K3IOB and the P# wotking just fine. I find that if I am local, I need to have the Y cable connected to the PC connection on the P3. When I want to operate the K3 remotely, I need to switch cables. Is there a way I can have the best of both worlds??

I hope that I explained this correctly!

I hope this is the right place to post this....
I have used this configuration before, but it has been a while...

Microsoft Surface on WiFi.
USB 3 Network Connection to the RCC
The device gets an IP address.
I can't ping it or web to it, so I can't create the connection..

I don't see any reason for it being blocked. I would love some suggestions.

I have been playing around with remote operation of my station. I have even had a person operate my station from Europe. I can even connect from my office and control my station...

In getting ready for CQWW, I tried to connect to my station while I am away for Thanksgiving. I can web to it the Radio RRC, I can remote to the PC, heck I can telnet to my dx cluster node. When I try to connect from my control RRC, I get a SIP status: Unknown(1) and Last SIP error: SIP Error

I have even tried looking at ports and things, no joy and happiness. The router here is a Netgear WNR3500L. It does have the latest firmware, I can't seem to see connect. I know it is close to CQ WW, but lets see if I can get this work!!

I am a bit perplexed. I have gotten most things to work. Radio communications, RX audio and CW, but the SSB audio is not working. I have looked at this a few times. I am using the RRC-1258MkIIs with the FTdx5000 on the radio side. I am using just a computer on the control side.

I followed the pictures for the jumpers and they look like they follow the same path as the boards pictured in the manual, The cables I made for the AUX/MIC inputs were made from CAT 5/6 wiring. I was looking at the generic or 2000 pattern. I only hooked up 5-8 (PTT & MIC).

When I am looking at the jumper configuration. The front of the unit is facing me. So Pin 1 is all the way to the right and Pin 8 is to the left on the socket. Since there are only four jumpers, I am guessing that these are the only pins used.
Here is my Jumper Settings:
Back to Front
4 - 5
5 - 8
7 - 7
8 - 4

If I am reading the cable wiring right:
CAT Wiring Side - Radio Side
1 - Orange Stripe
2 -  Orange
3 - Green Stripe
4 - Blue - Pin 7
5 - Blue Stripe - Pin 8
6 - Green - Pin 6
7 - Brown Stripe - Pin 6
8 - Brown
The tab is on the top side (like shown in the pictures).
Do I need the rest? All Do I really care about any of the other connections?
Does VOX work remotely?

Configuration, RRC 1258 / FTdx5000 Help
« on: 2015-06-23, 17:55:16 »
I have been looking at the manual and trying to setup RRC-1258 MkII: Control and RRC-1258 MkII: Radio. I have the latest firmware. The two devices are talking in the status window. I have the radio connected to Com2 and I have the computer connected to the control on Com2.

I have straight through cables built with pins 2,3,5,7 & 8 connected (on both devices). On the RRC-1258 MkII: Radio  I am not seeing the radio connect. The radio is set for 38400 and RTS is disabled.

I am not sure what I am missing. Can someone help? Give me pointers??
Eventually it would be nice to hook up the Navigator and have it all work.
