General discussion forum / Nano App Assistance
« on: 2015-10-28, 17:41:46 »
I installed a serial cable between my radio RRC and my TS-480 and just downloaded the Android Nano app for Kenwood.  I entered my SIP Contact info for my radio RRC, double checked my UDP settings, and pressed the connect button. The button changes to read "Disconnect" and that's as far as the app goes.  It never actually connects to the radio RRC.  No frequency display, etc.  The radio is functioning normally when used with the Control RRC.

I thought I could try this out once or twice and if I liked it then purchase the license.  Is that not the case?  Do I need to buy the license to get it to work or am I missing something else.  This is the current version of the app and I have no previously installed versions or server on the Android.

Except for some occasional intermittent issues, I now have my TS-480 and the pair of RRC's working fine on SSB and CW.  Now I'd like to get the digital modes functioning.  If I plug my  480 panel directly into the transceiver (no RRC's) and plug the output of the Signalink USB directly into the DIN plug on the transceiver, I get audio both directions and PTT works as it should.

Then I tried adding the RemoteRig boxes into the picture.  I ran a serial cable from Com 2 on the radio RRC to the transceiver, and plugged the output of the Signalink USB into the mic jack on the control RRC via Cat5.  I set com2 on both RRC's to 9600, 8 bit, 1 stop.  I'm not getting any audio to or from the radio to the computer and while the PTT on the Signaling lights up, it doesn't key the transmitter.

What am I missing?  And once I get this working is their anything else I need to wire/configure in order to use the Nano Ap?

Configuration, RRC 1258 / Have it now working EXCEPT
« on: 2015-09-11, 00:27:17 »
I have the MkII's working with my TS-480 except for one issue.  Some times it works great.  Other times it cuts in and out about every half second.  It does this when remote over the internet and also with both boxes on my local network.  Sometimes if I reboot my control RRC the problem goes away, sometimes it doesn't.  So far I've been unable to recreate the problem consistently.  Some times it does this and other times not.  When I say it cuts in and out, I'm referring to received audio.  My panel stays lit and all other functionality seems to be okay.  I haven't been able to try transmitting when it's doing this so can't say if transmitting is cutting in and out or not.

Configuration, RRC 1258 / Almost There with TS-480

After two weeks of battling "Operator Error Syndrome" I've got my TS-480 working except for one small detail.  The volume level on the panel speaker is too low even with the audio knob turned all the way up.  Can this be adjusted via a setting in the RRC and if so which parameter?
