General discussion forum / TS-480HX won't power up

Hi

I am having the same startup problem as described in the thread:
http://www.remoterig.com/forum/index.php?topic=1198.0;prev_next=prev#new

-- > except I have a maximum of 20mS latency time to radio site (normally 12 mS).

My setup have been working fine for a long time until a few days ago when one of the Power supplies failed. I replaced it with a similar sized PSU (slightly different design).

My Radio-RRC OUT1 MODE=Connect is wired to a 240V relay that switches on the PSU's when connected to the control site

When the power switch on the front panel is pressed there's a short beed (normal); PSU goes on on remote site - but front panel is still dead. both's RRC's shows connected.  I can even see "PTT status" is changed at radio site when i press mic PTT.

After a couple of restarts of both RRC and manually changing PSU OUT1 MODE=on/off ect the panels goes on (sometimes many tries ... seems random)

How is this startup sequence timed in the RRC communication ? is there a build in timeout. I'm thing that either sites is missing a "on" command on the serial radio/panel connection ?

Could it bee that the replacement PSU has a slightly longer startup time and that in turn causes a extra delay in this sequence ?

Hi

I put together 4 temp sensores on 1-wire connected to BUS-A.

When scanning for new devices i get a error message:  Invalid 1-wire code found!

how can i fix this ?

PS: When going back to my "old" setup with one temperature sensor... theres no problem the device gets registered and can measure the temperature.

Im using :

Hi

I have a problem getting the data communication to work with my FT-897.

Studying the diagrams in manual I have setup the AUX/Mic connector on both RRC units to put TX/RX data on Pin 1+2 by two additional jumpers on the "straps socket" (#3:RXD and #6:TXD).

I setup my FT-897 to put TX/RX data on pin 1+2 on front panel mic connector.

I have verified that it works on the RRC-Radio and data is transferred to RRC-Control (using a separate RS-232 cable on COM2 : but data seems not to be present on the AUX/MIC terminals ?

From the manual I would expect that it was possible to get the TTL levels on the AUX/Mic connector as well as on the TTL conector - but is this somehow disabled on the RRC-Control unit ?

Hi

Is the possible to use the RXD/TXD (COM0) on the AUX/MIC for radio CAT interface microphone using a Yaesu radio (program mode 3)?

I setup my FT-897 to use send RXD/TXD via microphone plug (pin1+2).

From other radios in the manual (that have CAT interface via AUX/Mic), I figured out that strapping 8->2 and 2->1 on PCB would connect data interface to the Radio-RRC.

But it seems not to be working...

Hi

How should the Radio RRC be programmed if I only want to use a straight key interface at control site ?

I wired the straight output to radio to OUT2 on I/O port
I only get it working with Out2 mode set to I/O, but will there be a difference in the keyer timing using "I/O" vs "keyer" as the mode ?

Hej

PIN-1 : TXD
PIN-2 : RXD

I 1258-radio strappes internt på PCB følgende to ekstra ledninger:
PIN-3: RXD  <---- MIC/AUX: PIN 1 (FT-897 TXD)
PIN-6: TXD  ----> MIC/AUX: PIN 2 (FT-897 RXD)

Mit spørgsmål er: Hvilket signal niveau anvendes af RRC-1258 (TTL eller RS323 (12V)) når man kobler sig ind på RX/TX-data på AUX/MIC stikket ?
