General discussion forum / Control with control head
« on: 2013-12-14, 17:57:49 »
Is there a possibility to control any transceiver(like yaesu ft2000) with a control head like the tm-d700? I think it could be necessary a kind of translator between the control head and the RRC at control side, but I'm not sure if it could be possible. Any ideas?

Hi there:

If I'm not wrong, IN0 must be set as "keyer" if you want to use a straight morse key or a PC for keying at the control side.

Yes, you're right.

I was trying it and it's very difficult. Maybe Could be possible with a external keyer with sidetone.

I'm testing what I have wired but the relation between Inputs (at Control RRC) and outputs (at Radio RRC) is not clear to me.
Closing IN0 (pin 4) to ground I have different results at Remote Side (looking at the status page):
with ON/OFF settings the output is at OUT2
with I/O settings the output is at OUT 1

Don't worry, It's clear. I was using the pad connector.

Thanks Mike

Thanks Mike for your help.

If I disable the internal keyer, and set all the inputs and outputs as I/O, I can use one Output as Key (using my own external keyer) and that way I would have 2 outputs available to switch ON/OFF two different relays. Is that correct?

Thanks

In the manual (page 89) you can see the I/O connector pinout. IN1 = pin 1, IN2 = pin 2 and IN2 = pin 4.  Is it a mistake? What pin should I use for IN0? I think is pin 4, that means I'm going to loose my straight/PC Key capability, Is that correct?

Thanks Mike

Hi Mike:

Thanks for your reply. I understand what you told me, but I prefer to use a physical pushbutton (I want to be able to do short and large pushes, in order to switch the PC On or OFF ).
Can I do it without affecting the internal keyer?

Thanks

Hi there:

I don't really understand the I/O system. Is it possible to use one lane (to switch my remote pc) when you are using the internal keyer?
If is not possible, I can use a external keyer, but, how I must configure the I/O settings to have CW (with my external keyer)  and a pushbutton ( for switch on the remote pc) ?

Thanks, 73's

General discussion forum / Using 3G in Spain

Hi there:
Only for information (mainly for spanish hams)
Now, finally, my system is working fine.

At Control Side: ADSL 10MB Yacom

At Remote Side: Modem 3g ZTE + Router TP-Link with pre-paid SIM card (eroski movil). Doesn't work with Orange or other virtual operators like Simyo or Masmovil, because they only give you a private IP, not accesible from outside your LAN.

Could you explain how can I use Hamachi with RRC's. I use Hamachi with computers, but I don't know if is posible to create a VPN to connect both RRCs when you have a double-nat 3g connection.

Thanks

I'm having problems trying to connect at Radio side using a usb 3g modem + router. The problem is that my ISP only gives private IPs such as 10.xxx.xxx.xxx.
Is posible to connect both RRC using a VPN? How could I do it?

HUUUUUURRRRAAAAAAA... I GET IT

Finally, after a lot of testing, I get it.

I changed all my network, I set the nanostation as a router (before was a bridge) and that way, the DNS status has changed to OK, remoterig.com=193.202.xxx.xxx

Now is working either with fix IP or with DHCP (doesn't matter).

I hope tomorrow, when I'll get home, not to have problems with DMZ configuration.

I see at the Info page: DNS 80.58.61.250 but at IP setting I have DNS server 8.8.8.8

What is the reason for this difference?

Thanks

Hi there:

I've just set RRC at Radio Side in DHCP mode, and still the same...DNS Status: Queying status.

Must be the RRC at Control Side switched ON or doesn't matter?

Thanks

Hi there:

Next weekend I'm going to try it. I'll let you know if it works or not.

In my case, the router is a Zyxel P660, but the connection between the RRC and the router is made through a Nanostation M2 in Bridge Mode (wifi connection).

I think that SIP is blocked (default) in the Nanostation. Next weekend I'm also going to disabled that blockage in the Nanostation.
