In the combination of Alinco DX-SR8 with RRC 1258 I found that the modulation prefers only the higher audio-frequencies, low audio-frequencies are missing totally!?  So I have been reported in many QSOs.  :o

I have tested this with different band-frequencies and with different modulation-modes. Even through several changes in the RRC-configuration no improvement could be achieved.   :(

Any suggestions?
Any help is appreciated!

General discussion / Is "Alinco DX SR8" also supported?

Can your RRC-Micro PC Client also work with the following remote TRX?
Alinco DX SR8(E)

Hmmm ... really no idea at all?

With Alinco DX-SR8E and the RemoteRig Remoterig RRC-1258MkII Set (HW-Rev. 7 and FW V 2.58) I have often recognized a kind of freezing in the audio (rx) transmission during normal use of the PTT-Button during a QSO. After releasing the PTT-Key (original microphon) you couldn't hear any rx-sound! But the audio transmission could always be recovered to the normal state, by simply triggering the PTT-Key again.

Can I fix this anomaly via a certain modification of the RRC configuration?

... However, anything above 0 is
unnecessary, ... I am running several remote stations, only
one is using codec 2 and the rest 0 with no complaints. ...
Well, that sounds really interesting!
Thanks again.

Dirk,

Take a look at the message I just posted under http://www.remoterig.com/forum/index.php?topic=1380.msg5781#msg5781
It also covers pretty much what I would suggest to you.

I would also follow the manual and use the same codecs on both RRC's. If you are using the PC Client, that is a different story.

Mitch,

thank you very much for your suggestions. I will take this into account.

But the remoterig-Website also says:

... Remember that you can use different settings in Control and Radio-RRC as long as you chose two codecs with the same sample rate. This could be useful if the Internet connection is assymetrical like ADSL and many mobile systems. ...

When the given bandwidth for the radio-rrc is much lower than for the control-rrc, is the following radio-setting (for example) correct?

Control:  8 - Linear 16 bits 16 kHz
Radio:    13 - IMA ADPCM 4 bits 16 kHz

Or should it be the other way round?

Regards
Dirk
