I used it for free for a long time so I had to renew every month which was inconvenient so I paid. The reliable service is well worth the $19.99 per year.  ;D ;D ;D

My IP address changes every day when my LTE modem restarts automatically in my remote QTH at noon every day. I have been using for years without a single issue ever.

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for sharing. Is this something that can be used by people who have no public IP on either end?

Is it possible that at the airport when you used your Android phone to make the new entity on 6m, that you did not close your station fully via your android?

Thank you very much for the reply. Interestingly, it started to work correctly on it's own without me doing anything after a few weeks. I have no idea why. All is good.

Thanks Mike, I will try a full reset of the radio next time I visit my remote QTH.

First I had two CW filters installed in my TS-480. All was OK.

Now I decided to have just one CW filter and also an SSB filter. A very strange thing happened: it works when the control head unit is connected directly to the transceiver's body, but when I use the radio via internet remote I am not able to turn the SSB filter on.

Does anyone have the optional SSB filter in their TS-480? Is it functioning via remote?

What could cause this? All other features of my TS-480 work perfectly fine and have so for about 8 years.

No /P and no /M either ha ha ha :-)

Enjoy! It's fun. Probably a half of my DX has been worked while in car, but I don't tell people I'm "mobile" with a 6 element 20m monobander 30 meters high and a kW.  ;D ;D ;D

I use LTE while in car and also LTE in my remote QTH. My settings on both ends are "2 - Linear 16 Bits 8 kHz". It is very good, very close to 100%, but I must say the Internet speeds have improved here over the past few years and my driving is mostly in a large city.

I understand Starlink doesn't have static IP, but RemoteRig would still likely work via a VPN.

Anyone has any first hand experience with Starlink? Just curious while snow melts on my LTE antenna in my remote QTH.  ;D ;D ;D

And when 1258 is cold under zero it dont start at all.

Yes, that's a very good observation. I keep all my equipment turned on continuously 24/7/365 so this is "usually" not an issue even though all my equipment is housed in an outdoor electrical enclosure that is unheated and the internal temperature during winters may go below -30C on a very cold day. However, if there is a power interruption in cold weather, the RRC will not start when power comes back on. For those occasions I have purchased a small pad heater that is attached to the bottom of my RRC. When I need to start my RRC after a power failure during winter, first I remotely turn on the pad heater for about one minute, then I remotely turn on power to my RRC. Problem solved.

Here's a link to the exact product I used for this:

Hi Chuck,

I used to use a WISP (Wireless ISP) who provided me with 4 Mbps down and 1Mbps up service. In reality it would never go higher than 0.9 Mbps up. All was OK when the speed test showed 0.9 Mbps up, but when the speed dropped to for example 0.7 Mbps up, I started to experience issues using my remote station. A couple of months ago, I switched to a more expensive provider whose speed is usually 70 Mbps down and 20 Mbps up. All is okay now all the time, but it is costing me money.  ;D

Hi Joe,

The biggest problem that I have is that any brief Internet interruptions causes the decoder not to work.

I feel your pain. I've been there. I've done a lot of FT8 on TS-480 via RemoteRig. When the Internet is not good enough, and when the above suggestions by Mitch don't help, the only solution is to get a better ISP. After 4 years of struggling with my not-so-good Internet from my local WISP, I switched to 4G/LTE from a mobile Internet provider. Very seldom I now experience any audio interruptions on RX or TX. It's more expensive though.

Configuration, RRC 1258 / Re: IPv6

Any update on a possible ETA for IPv6 compatibility?

My Wireles ISP is getting worse. I'm looking at alternatives. Rogers or Bell would likely provide faster and more consistent speed.

If you are on Rogers or Bell:
- What device (internet modem) do you use? Are you happy with it? Can you remotely access it, control it, restart it, etc?
- Does Rogers (or Bell) offer the IP number we need to access our Radio-RRC?
- Can you share your experience with Rogers or Bell mobile internet at your remote QTH?

I'm writing this during CQ WW DX CW contest because I've just stopped contesting due to my unusable Internet. :-(
