Hi Andreas!

The problem was the IC706 itself
In the initial set mode (number 36 CI-V TRN) the setting was "on"; strange behaviour. I changed this to "off" and all is working fine.

Great to hear that your setup is working now, but I'm a little bit confused about the explanation. I have CI-V Transceive turned on in my setup and that works great. I like to see my bandmap move in real-time!

Hi Andreas,

I don't know the details of your cabling but I also have had the problem with the "dark" display. It took quite some time to find out, but in my case the problem was caused by a loose contact at the RJ45 connector for the control panel!

BTW: I also use the control panel and an additional CI-V connection for CAT-control.

General discussion forum / Re: Dyndns no longer free?

Hi,

really looks like dyndns.org (now dyn.org) does not allow to register new accounts for free. But as long as you have a valid, free account that is updated regularly nothing changed.

Besides my free dyndns-Account I use no-ip.com as an alternative. Looks like they are still offering free accounts. But I think there are lots of other free providers out there.

Hi,

also noticed that in the past. I've put some ferrite on the cable between RRC and TRX. Now everything is fine even when operating at high power.

General discussion forum / Re: Humming noise through speaker

Hi,

do you also hear the humming when you plug the speaker in the jack of the RRC? Thats what I do, so I can use Speaker and Headphone in parallel.

In case that the FW makes any differences: I'm still on a very old FW release.

Hi Greg,

ExtFSK is an additional software. You can find it here.

Hi Ulli,

I also do not have a real serial port on the control side! Just connect the serial port from your Easy Rotator Control to the remote RRC and a serial to USB converter to the control RRC. Works fine for me! If you need detailed config, just let me know.

Hi Ulli,

I use the N8LP Powermeter (http://www.telepostinc.com/lp100.html) which has a RS-232 Port and I'am very satisfied!

Hi Mike,

I also have had some problems with the 706-display not coming up at all, or stopping to work after some time. I my case it was simply a bad connection of the RJ45 connector in RJ45-jack of the control RRC so check the cabling first!

Hi Jim,

if get you correct you plugged in the PC with wireshark to an additional (third) port of your router. So then of course you can not see anything as the ports at the router are switched ports, i.e. traffic from the radio RRC is going only to the control RRC and the other way round but no traffic is going to your PC!

You will have to use either a hub or a switch with a configurable monitor port.

Configuration, RRC 1258 / Re: Trouble programing RCC
« on: 2011-08-04, 08:52:33 »
Hi,

what happens when you click on a new page in the browser setup when the RRC won't go from page to page. In the past I've seen the RRC constantly rebooting before switching to the next page.

Hi,

that seems a little bit strange to me. When connecting the device via USB and clicking on "browse" your browser should come up and all the pages are accessed via LAN and NOT via USB!

Just note the URL shown in your browser after clicking on "browse" and try using this URL without the USB connection.

Configuration, RRC 1258 / Re: RRC Manager
« on: 2011-06-27, 10:02:50 »
Hi,

1. use the "Microbit Setup Manager" as you can find it in the download section of the Remoterig Website for "initial" configuration. That is, connect your boxes one after the other to your PC using a USB connection and adjust the network settings to fit your local net (write down the IP adresses of both boxes).

2. After you have changed the network settings of both boxes you can remove the USB connection and connect both boxes to your local net using a switch. You should now be able to access both boxes using a web browser and the two IP adresses from 1.

3. Configure the boxes using the web interface.

Hello Gerd,

I also have seen (or heard) these short interuptions. As you already mentioned interupts are very short and, in my case, only occur seldom. So I didn't care about it. I think it is related to SIP, as I also know this behavior from IP telephones. Can you configure or do you use QoS in your Router?

It would be interesting if some of the SIP settings can influence the probablility of occurence.

CU in FN next weekend,
Simon

Hi Costas,

check the manual of your TS-480. On page 7 it is written:

Quote
... If an external speaker is connected to EXT.SP jack, the built-in speaker on the back of the Remote Control panel will mute. ...
