Can someone help?
It seems it is not only a N1MM+ problem.
I've recently installed win-test, the latest version and it doesn't work at all.
The error message is: "Winkey Device Init Error"
If I try to send CW it will send only the first character then will stop, at this point you cannot send anything else. If I hit "Esc" it allows to send again only the first character and then it stops.

Strange is that I've used the Win-Test 4.16 Demo version and it works ok but after that I've installed the registered version, 4.19 and it has the described behavior.
I've tried to uninstall the new version and install the old demo version but from this point on I received the same erorr message "Winkey Device Init Error" and the same behavior, even after an OS point in time restore.

Running the test tool from k1el, sometimes works ok, sometimes display the error message:
openComm:Success
Attach WK: Echo Mismatch (or Attach WK: No Echo)

N1MM+ works ok in S&P mode but it stops sending randomly in RUN mode.
No problem using the paddle attached to RRC Control and also no problem with CAT control or audio

I ran out of ideas so any help will be appreciated.

Thank you!

Hello and Happy New Year!

Is there someone with TS-480 using N1MM+ as a contest software?
Can you share please your setup config ?
I've tried different settings combination but I have the same result, in RUN mode, N1MM+ does not sent the entire message, it stops/restart randomly.
My setup is working ok with win-test or winwarbler from DXLab.
I've checked also with http://k1el.tripod.com/WKdemo.html as suggested by KD0PO and I see no issues so it should be something with N1MM+ / RemoteRig / TS-480 combination.

Thank you

Hello,

I'm running the latest RRC firmware (2.87) and I've encounter a strange issue running N1MM+ with RemoteRig.
N1MM+ stop sending in the middle of the message, for example if I'm running in RUN mode F1 should send as per my CQ config file:

test yo3irm

but it send:

test yo3irm
test yo
test
test yo3irm
test y
.............

I've troubleshoot this with Steve from N1MM team and he found to be an issue with RemoteRig
See his comments below in the ErrorLog.txt from N1MM+

Quote
Here's what happened, with my comments.

- N1MM+ starts sending TEST YO3IRM to Winkey (RemoteRig). Good.

- Winkey reports that it has stopped sending. Bad. It has not finished echoing characters back to N1MM+. It should not report that it has stopped sending until after all characters have been sent, and the echo characters have been sent back to N1MM+. Receiving this prematurely also starts the CQ repeat timer prematurely, leading to the next CQ starting too soon.

  Winkey HandleStatus = 0

I see this pattern throughout the log file. It needs to be fixed by RemoteRig.

Any suggestion ?
Could be something on my RRC configuration ?

Thank you

« on: 2015-12-05, 20:37:49 »
I experienced a similar behavior last weekend during CQWW CW contest.
Both units connected on a local network, using N1MM+ and TS-480SAT.
Caught my attention the fact that I didn't receive any response to my calls.
The sound generated locally from the TS-480 unit was ok, as expected, but checking my signal on a remote internet SDR, this was unreadable.
Using the paddle connected to RRC, the transmission was ok, using the winkeyer through N1MM+ the resulting signal was unreadable.
Thought was something with N1mm+ setup and switch to DXLAB-Winwarbler, again, the same behavior, it works with the paddle and it generate the same unreadable signal through Winkeyer.
I didn't remember exactly the sequence of the operations but I've removed all RRC software and COMs and do a clean reinstall.
Finally it works as it should

Ok, Thanks!

Hi,

is it possible with AS-1289 + RRC 1258MkIIs (TS-480) and actual firmware to configure one antenna for RX and another antenna for TX ?
For example I would like to automatically use my dipole for 40m RX and my Vertical antenna for 40m TX.
If not, is it possible this with a future firmware update?

Thank you!

Hello,

I would like to consider an AS-1289 antenna switch for my remote location.
I've read a couple of month ago on this forum about a RF issue with this product and some manual intervention to correct it.
Is this issue corrected at the factory on the current AS-1289 products ?

I would also like to know if there is a power supply included when you buy the antenna switch or this should be ordered separately.
(Is this ok to connect the antenna switch to the shack power supply (13.8V) ?)

From the product picture I cannot see a point where you can connect the box to the ground, is there such a point ?

Thank you

General discussion forum / TS-480 JMP2 position
« on: 2015-02-01, 18:29:54 »
Hello,

I've started to configure my TS-480SAT to work with RRC. Reading through manual I found a mismatch regarding JMP2 that will select 8 or 9V.
On the RRC-1258 MKII manual, pag 23:
"JMP-2 is used to select if the DC-power to the front panels should be 8 or 9 V. With the strap in place it will be 8V, which fits all ICOM radios. Without the strap the voltage will be 9V, which fits Kenwood TS-480 and RC-2000 panels that need 9V for the back-lighter"
So, for  TS-480, I understand that JMP2 should not be connected.

On page 182, "Kenwood TS-480", first of all it should be a mistake regarding radios serial number:
"New radios with serial number from 70600056 are using Configuration type 1 and older radios with serial number below are using configuration type 2."

70600056 is not a serial number specific to TS-480 radios, for example my TS-480 serial number is starting with B48..... and it is manufactured in 2014, so I can consider is a new radio and should use "Configuration Type 1"

On this page, 182, on the table specific to Configuration Type 1, JMP2 is 1 (In place) that means we are using 8V for the front panel, but on page 23, for the same TS-480, it is specified JMP2 -> 0 (not connected).
Which one is the correct position ?

Thank you!

Hardware, Cabling, Installations / Re: wattmeter/swr control
« on: 2014-10-27, 13:48:12 »
I've bought a Lantronix UDS2100 for LP-100A remote control.
Now, I'm not sure what cable to use, I see LP-100A has a DB9 female connector and UDS2100 a DB9 male connector. UDS was supplied with a Null Modem  cable.
Should I use a null modem cable between LP-100A and UDS2100 or a straight serial cable with  DB9 M - DB9 F connectors?

Thank you!
Dan

Hardware, Cabling, Installations / wattmeter/swr control
« on: 2014-10-09, 18:38:16 »
Hi,

I would like to use RRC with TS-480 at the control station, at remote location I would like to control an antenna rotator (Yaesu G-450C) and also connect to RS232 a wattmeter/swr like LP-100A or array solution Powermeter.

On my laptop at the control station I would like to see the bar graph from wattmeter/swr, I have only usb on my laptop.
Is this combination possible, is anyone using a rotator control and a swr/wattmeter through remoterig ?

Thank you

44
I didn't find one, do you have any example. Thanks

45
yes, the switch will be between power outlet and the power supply, see picture below how I would like to configure them:

So I would like to put one of the webswitch relay on the power extension cord. Is this correct ?

If the transceiver will drain 20 A from the power source, will this current drain be transferred to the power outlet also ?

Thanks
