When using CW packet loss is not acceptable, it will be errors if a CW packet is lost. Jitter is acceptable as long as it's within the "key delay" settings. Set "key delay" well over the longest ping time, try 150 ms in this case.

yes it is, with the limitation that the RRC version 1 do not have COM2

pin 1 is at the position shown in manual, no matter how the socket looks like or is mounted.

General discussion / Re: TS-480 Setup
« on: 2011-07-23, 09:10:24 »
The TS-480 control panel do not use the standard Kenwood CAT protocol to communicate with the Radio it's a different protocol which is not public, and there is no documentation available for it. The RRC boxes just setup a channel for it we do not bother whats inside.
The same is for the RRC-Micro we just set up a channel for the HRD or other PC software to use for the CAT protocol.
There is no chance for a patch as you say, to convert between these protocol. But there are lot of other products giving you extra serial ports for example from Tibbo. Of course you can return the RRC-Micro if you can not use it.

but you must connect cable between Radio-RRC COM2 and the radio CAT port.

and in the RRC-micro you set up COM 2 to mode 4 and select one of the virtual comport.

then in the HRD you select the same virtual comport

You can reassign the comport numbers in Windows like for all other comports

Hi
most people who have this problem have forgot that when they try to control the TS-480 using HRD or other PC software, a CAT cable must be connected between COM2 and the radio CAT-port. HRD etc can't use the same control channel as the front panel. When using TS-480 via the CAT port, it should be seen as any other Kenwood radio. From your limited descriptions I can't say anything else.

If you are testing on local LAN and the yellow led flash the you have not set the correct ip in the "sip contact" box. The sip contact is like the phone number to the Radio-RRC.

The only thing which can activate PTT is that the input is grounded. It cant be anything wrong with the hardware. Check that he have turned the box the right way when identifying pin 1, that's the most common problem. We do not send out used units and I hope our distributors do not either. But of course we can have missed put the bag with the red straps into the box, give me the address and I will send the missing straps.

Hi

There are lot of bad routers out there in which DMZ and and portforwarding are not working properly, but after udating them with latest firmware, the problems are solved in most cases. Also check if there is something called SIP ALG it should NOT be activated. Send me exported settings and login info so I can test from here.

Hi

you have mixed up udp and tcp in the portforwarding config.

SIP,control, and audio should be UDP and webserver TCP

Hej
