Dennis,

Did you try rebooting your computer? Sounds like a Windows driver problem. You may try
deinstalling and reinstalling the software.

Hi Chuck,

Your USB is going into power saving mode. Go to the following presentation at:
https://www.kkn.net/~n6tv/N6TV_Dayton_2019_Everything_USB.pdf
and follow the instructions starting on page 26.

Drop me a short mail at dj0qn (at) darc (dot) de and I will send you my networking checklist
that walks you through the process.

Hi Dennis,

Did you reboot the PC? If so and you still receive this error message, I would ask on the WJST support
forum for assistance.

BTW, your setting is wrong for PTT: it should be on CAT and not DTR.

Hi Dennis,

Actually, having helped a few people to setup WJST, I can say that it was the easiest of all the
digital software I have setup to get working. I suspect that one of the others caused a Windows
conflict. Did you try rebooting your PC and then try setting it up? Also make sure that the
newest version is installed.

Hi Dennis,

Thanks for the summary; I am glad that you got it all working.

Just one input from me: the Signalink normally uses VOX for PTT. This is not always practical
in a RemoteRig setup, so instead I suggest that you instead use CAT for PTT after setting CAT
up first. I know that you did that, but I just wanted to point it out.

If you must use VOX for PTT, then make sure that both RRC's have RTP tx mode set to continuous
to make VOX work. Due to the inherent VOX latency, I really suggest implementing PTT via CAT.

Dave,

Are you using a serial to USB converter, or a real serial cable?

If using a serial to USB converter, you should make some adjustments in Windows as described in
the following link:
https://www.kkn.net/~n6tv/N6TV_Dayton_2019_Everything_USB.pdf
starting page 27 are important tips.

If using a Prolific converter, I highly suggest throwing it in the trash and getting an FTDI one to replace it.

I'm afraid so! Maybe you saved the settings in the past and that will save time.

You can let someone else try it out.

If you want me to try it out, contact me directly at dj0qn (at) darc (dot) de and I will try it from
my QTH. Otherwise, you may know someone already who has a K3/0 and can try it out.

BTW, I use the Elecraft microphone.

I guess Mike will have to get back to you on this one.

You may wish to try a different ethernet cable in the meantime.

Dean, did you set it to DHCP?

There are only two areas I am aware of that can cause that type of problem and you may have
already addressed them.

Since the microphone audio is only done in hardware, there are no RRC settings as such that can
affect this. The two possibilities would be the power supply and the red straps (not jumpers).

My hunch is that one of your strapping PCB's is not making contact in at least one hole. I would use
an ohmmeter to check all the connections to verify.

Hi Dave,

It is difficult to figure out your problem without being at your site.

You reversed the locations on 1 and 2.....you meant the radio RRC for the KPA500 and the USB cable at the control RRC. That doesn't fix your problem,
but just thought I would mention it.

Make sure that the control RRC's serial settings are still correct. It turns out that the other OM's RRC set the serial port settings back to a default setting
for some reason. The problem may have occurred on the radio RRC instead, check both.

The Webswitch only offers a serial port server for a rotor. You can control a rotor either directly over its web interface, or else use the serial port server to
control it instead. The driver is installed using the Microbit Setup Manager on the far right tab.

Hi Dave,

I am in a lot of stress right now with house selling stuff, so I am not on here as often.

It is very hard to believe that the RRC became defective. Not impossible, but highly unlikely.

Are you using it with real serial cables, or with the built-in USB to serial converter? If using it
with the converter, you may have a problem with the virtual ports that Windows assigned.
Probably easiest in that case to move the USB connector to another USB port on the PC and
use the new virtual ports for device control.

The interesting thing is that another OM wrote me at the same time direct with exactly the
same problem. He also uses the RRC's serial ports for control rather than a separate serial
server like I do. The coincidence is too strange, I would almost suspect a Windows update is
causing the problem.

Hi Dave

No, only one can be connected at the same time.  You can leave  power on to all devices as long as they are not connected.
