Ask Mitch DJ0QN for this checklist

FT897 or FT1000MP are not OK for TWIN operation

Considering the control BOX , you don't need it.
I think we are still amateurs and can build a PS
normally modern motors are connected with 5 or 6 wires depending on the brand, older motors with a brake had more
but in my opinion a brake is a very bad thing, I prefere that my antennas turn around due high wind and are misaligned then that my tower twist because the brake didn't allow turning the Antenna.

2 or 3 wires are for the motor probably +/- 24V
3 wires are for the potmeter inside the motor connect the outer wires to a 12VDC power supply (or make it from the 24Volt) When turning the motor the voltage on the center from the potmeter will be varying up or down (CW or CCW)
this is what you need for any interface.

Hi Marvin,
If you can buy a G-1000DXA without a controller box I would go for that
and buy also the  Webswitch 1216H + rotator controller 1216L.
or
when with controller box you better buy a ERC-M unit that can control 2 rotators via 1 serial port
this unit connects direct to the minidin on the backside of the controller.

Hi John,
yes you even can control it all but not at the same time.
There is a I/O connector on the RRC, look up my postings and search for K9AY to have
a start ,
You can switch via remote with extra relay the 2 rotators and make 2 profiles.

Hi Luigi
this can be done with RRC-1258 itself when you use the I/O in and outputs
for this, Check my uploads , drawings at the forum.
I putted a K9AY RX switching system here so with that you can start to build your own needs

That can be done Jari via firmware upgrade but the question are they willing to do it

Jari, I am/was aware of the reading out but to SET it is more important in this case
they are going the same way like Icom does for many years concerning VFO-B

Jari,
the biggest problem I am aware of is that the FTDX3000 doesn't has 2 VFO's,
its 1 VFO now (single RX) with to stacks of freq.
There is not even a cmd in the cat anymore that can set the so called VFO-B
the only way to handle correct CAT setting of the FTDX3000 is
SET MODE and (SPLIT FREQ IF NEEDED ) to VFO A
Then VFOA to VFOB
Then set SPLIT ON
Then SET mode and freq to VFO-A
There are not many logging programs that can handle this now
but when you change something on the radio you are stucked again.

Beck,
you can always make or modify a switchbox yourself with a relay
RXD and TXD for normal simple serialswitch (GND not needed)
RXD,TXD,RTS,CTS and if needed also DTR for a full serial switch

Hi Roland,
concerning the android version.
yesterday I connected 2 WS in master/slave and via the webpage I get the 10 switches + All on/off
but via the android App I get also the 10 swiches + another 5 grayed out buttons and the Reload button when I scroll
down. Is there a way to get them off the screen? Looks that these are the buttons for Nexa commands.
btw using gingerbread on the tab
