I would like to use my RRC control unit during travelling, if possible. How can i connect the RRC unit to internett when only wireless connection to internet is possible?
Can i connect it to my laptop by sharing the local network card?  What kind of settings in the RRC do i have to use??

I use TS-480SAT and RRC-1258MkII. I have got the following problem:
remote transmission via internett suddenly got several "time outs" of 2-5 second. I thought it might be wise to upgrade firmware. I have V.2.28. Can i go directly to last version for upgrade, or do i have to upgrade all versions between 2.28 and the newest one? I can't make QSO's, in fear of cutting the connection.
Any other suggest than upgrade the firmware???

Is it any solution for remote control ATU? I consider to put up a amplifier. That can be switch on/off with my webswitch 1216E, i presume. Between the amplifier and antenna, i need a tuner. I would like an automatic one, if there are some possibilities to remote controll such tuner??

Anyone out there who knows of this problem:
I have TS-480. I have tried to use Heil headset PRO SET 5 with HC 5 element. I use the included adapter and connect it to the AUX/MIC on control RRC and the other end into the external sp. on TS-480 display. When i push the PTT button on the head set or if i use a foot paddle, it seems to transmit a strong signal. The S-meter goes to top and it's not possible to send out a normal SSB.
Anyone who have any ideas here?
When i use the headset direct connected to the radio at the radio QTH, it's now problem. So nothing is wrong with the head set.

Thanks Mike.
First of all, nobody in the household use the bandwith. The problem with dropuots isn't that big, but it would be nice to get rid of it. I will try your suggestion, i must admit that i had forgotten the jitter values. I do not have the possibility to use same internet supplier in both ends. Radio end is at my cottage, there i use the ICE network and the wireless router, the new one R90 with higher speed. Thanks again.

Radio settings:
I have tried many combinations of radio settings on aduio quality, but i have so far never got the perfect combination.
At radio end i got about 1,8 Mbps upload speed. At control end i got about 2 Mbps upload and about 20 Mbps download speed.
Anyone out there who could give me a suggestion of the correct level on Aduio quality under "Radio settings" at both ends?

I have the "old" web switch 1216E, and there is no forum for that, therefore i use the forum for 1216H. I have never used 1216E, so i am unknown with the settings. You suggest to use an DynDns host name to get to the switch through the router. (i have no possibility to get a static IP adr. from the ICE supplier)I already have DynDns account and a host, in use with my RRC1258MkII. I would like to use the switch to controll the power for my radio, on/of. As the ICE router i use at the radio end only accept one DynDns host, i feel i have a problem. Any suggestion for that?  And one more thing, the 1216E does not have any settings for DynDns like the DynDns settings in the RRC 1258MkII. I have upgraded the software to V.1,07 in the 1216E.

Hakking på lyd blir nok ikke helt borte, men kan bedres ved å gjøre følgende:
Koble til en retningsstyrt antenne på ICE ruter, men pass på at antennen på venstre side av ruteren fortsatt skal sitte på. (ICE sier den skal fjernes, det er feil)
Ved å gå inn på ICE sin hjemmeside, kan man finne ut hvilken basestasjon som er nærmest din ruter. Et av menyvalgene der lar deg legge inn i hvilken kommune din ruter er, samt gårds og bruksnr på eiendommen. Da får du retningen og kan stille inn antennen.
I tillegg er det viktig at ICE ruteren slås av/på en til to ganger i døgnet, slik at den kan "friskes" opp med nye signaler.
Gå inn på oppsettet til ruteren og slå av den trådløse delen, som opptar noe kapasitet.
Jeg har utstyret stående på hytta med ICE ruter. Den er koblet til 220V med et tidsur som slår den av/på to ganger i døgnet. Husk å fjerne batteriet.
Hvis batteriet aldri brukes, vil det bli ødelagt, Pass derfor på å lade det en gang imellom.
Hastigheten på min ruter varierer, men er stort sett slik: nedlasting 1000 til 1500 Kbit, opplasting 200 til 800 Kbit. Gjennomsnitten er bra nok til remotekjøring. Alle jeg spør påstår de ikke kan høre at jeg kjører remote.
Vi får håpe ærligheten er på topp.

Anyone out there who can tell me what kind of interface i have to use to run digimodes via the remote system.?
I am using RRC1258MkII in both ends. Today i am using th SD2000 interface from AG Antenna. But i have to connect that box to my computer in the radio end, to use the sound card. So that goes very well when i am at the radio end and running my radio there.
But when i am at the control end, this is not a success at all. At the controll end i receive the sound through the RRC unit and into my computer at the control end, and into the DM780. But i am not able to transmit, the PTT function "not connected". Anyone who can help? please..............

Ja, du kan "brygga"(bridge) mellan din PC och WLAN t.ex. Då kan du ansluta RRC:n till PCns nätverkskontakt och få nätverksanslutning den vägen.

Bare husk å bruke krysset ethernett kabel mellom RRC og nettverkskortet i PC'n. Sett samtidig RRC til DHCP.

Det är 192.168.0.1 på båda, tilldelade av DHCP.

Jag skall se om jag kan be en kollega med remoterig testa att koppla upp mot mig och se om han får samma sak.

Jeg kjører ikke med DHCP og har ikke disse problemene. DynDns adresse er: www.la4esa.dnsalias.org, sjekk gjerne status.
Jeg bruker ICE wireless internet connection. Opplastingshastighet varierer veldig, fra 200 kbit/s til 850 kbit/s.
Når jeg "loggr" inn på RRC i radioenden, gjør jeg det enten via nettet, eller direkte via PC på stedet, da i samme LAN. DA må jeg bruke RRC sin ip adresse.
