Hi,

We have encountered a new issue at OH0Z. We need to switch the power of the Radio-RRC off/on to get connected otherwise there is a SIP error as follows:

Name   Value
P5.4   ON
Radio   ON
Connection status   Disconnected
SIP status   Unknown(1)
Last SIP error   SIP Error
RTP/UDP audio status   Disconnected
UDP cmd status   Disconnected
SIP command timeout   4
Rx Jitter buffer size   16
Rx Jitter delay   13
Dual Rx   0
SIP Out port   13000
SIP In port   13000
Audio Out port   13001
Audio In port   11000
Command Out port   13002
Command In port   12000
External SIP In port   13000
External Audio In port   11000
External Cmd In port   12000
Other party
Other party(mac)
Input 0   High
Input 1   High
Input 2   High
Output 0   Low
Output 1   Low
Output 2   Low
DNS status   OK, .....
Active profile   OH0Z
PTT status   OFF
Common network settings   No
System messages   No

What could be the root cause for this one? We have not changed any settings in at least 2 years.

And as said power reboot helps but as we do it remotely the whole station is rebooted (PC, 4G modem, etc.) so and we are very reluctant to do that every time to run the station.

FET changed and now it works  :)

Hi Mike,

Thank you for your prompt reply! Yes, we suspected those FETs too and will replace them as a next step.

General discussion forum / RRC will not turn off K3 anymore
« on: 2020-05-12, 18:15:46 »
Hi,

Our RRC has worked fine for many years. Last week I was not able to turn the radio on anymore. It turned out that the RRC at remote radio site keeps K3 turned ON all the time. Even pressing the power button on K3's front panel (at the radio on the remote site) didn't turn the radio off. We had to plug off the "ACC(DE15M connector) <-> RJ45" cable at the RRC end to be able to shut down the radio. We tested this even with RRC powered off and the symptom was the same so it seems like the RJ45 connectors Pin #5 is grounded all the time. Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks Mike for your prompt reply.

The port number 13000 seems to work and stay unchanged. No need to reboot the RRC yet so this looks quite promising.

SIP ALG was already disabled.

Hi All,

I changed my ADSL router at home to a new one and I believe my problem with CONTROL RRC is related to that. Every time I turn my radio (K3/0) on there is a SIP error and the radio will not be connected. If I reboot the RRC at home and turn the radio on again everything works just fine. But that is not very convenient so I am looking for a solution to fix this. The only observation for the possible cause of the behavior so far is the SIP out port. After rebooting the RRC the port number is 5060 and after closing the radio it stays at 5060 for a while but then changes to a random number between 5070-5120. If I turn the radio on when the SIP out port is anything but 5060 it will not work. Could it have something to do with this?

I have my RRC IP set as DMZ at the router. RRC FW is 2.86.

All ideas are very much appreciated as I need to keep my current ADSL router. The old model became unstable and it is no longer supported by my ISP.

General discussion forum / DNS Error
« on: 2015-12-02, 06:10:34 »
Hi All,

I have got a DNS error now a couple of times during the last month.

RRC Control Status page shows: DNS status   Error, failed to resolve [hostname].ddns.remoterig.com!

The IP had not changed at remote site but I resubmitted it with http://ddns.remoterig.com/status/ - no help.
Rebooted the Control RRC - no help
Power booted the Control RRC - no help

Webswitch was able to resolve the same DNS name and I can connect to that unit without any problems from my home.

Changed the RRC Control's SIP contact to a numeric IP address instead of the DNS and it started to work.

So something going on with the Radio RRC unit's capability to resolve DNS - any ideas?

Was happy to work CQWW SOSB 160 remotely without any problems though :-)

Adam,

Thanks, we are on the same page.

I was not able to reach the Radio RRC even via the local LAN as described earlier. This time even the radio did not start and I found out that the IP address had changed but it was not updated  at ddns.remoterig.com . This happens once in a while and in order to update the address manually you need the DDNS password to do that. I usually just go to the Radio RRC and check the password from there but this time it was not possible as it had become unresponsive again.  I was in a hurry when this happened so it was quite annoying. I have now the password stored on my home PC ...

Radio won't start due to lost DDNS info. Tried to reset IP via http://ddns.remoterig.com/status/editip.php but cannot access RRC so cannot find the password to reset the IP. Frustrating. Webswitchs 1 & 2 are responding just fine but it does not help. Need to write down that GD password...

Jan,

Now testing with the latest FW and changed Eth-type to "Auto" was "Auto prefer 10 Mbit"

Just noticed another symptom if it helps: Sometimes the main page keeps on loading even though the page is ready and displayed. I need to push the stop button in the browser to end that.

Today I got also an error message a few times saying: "TcpError, HTTP: TCP Error: -4, connection=0". Refresing the page helped.

This is not too serious a problem but very inconvenient when twisting the configuration. So I'll keep on testing here and let's see if a closer look is needed.

Pekka,

Thanks for the info - good to know about your W10 experience.

Hi,

Thank you for your ideas. This is till a mystery to me.

My RRC and remote PC are behind an UPS so that should be ok.

There are not multiple instances accessing the RRC at the same time. It is just me with my home or remote PC.

I still cannot access the RRC either from local LAN (remote PC -  no DNS involved) or from my home PC when this symptom occurs. Both PCs are running Win7 and I find it very hard to believe that both of the PCs become impatient at the same time after two weeks. I am able to connect to the two remote webswitches and an IP Camera all the time. Power booting the RRC helps - power booting PC does not.

Is there a way to send a reset command to the RRC if the web interfaces is unresponsive?

BR,

Kari

The Radio RRC Web interface stopped responding today. So the different port number did not help. Any other ideas?

Kari

Just for your information. The RRC Web interface has been working now 10 days with the new port number. Seeing is believing but I still need to see more  ;-)
