What is the state of the LED's on the control RRC box after it has been turned on for a few minutes?  This may give us a clue.

When running 2.87 what is the required version software for RRC-Micro and RRC-Nano devices that connect to the Radio RRC?

Thank you Mike for the reply.

I tried the Icom option using JMP1 to supply 8VDC to the mike but it does not work.  The Kenwood replacement mike wants to see +8VDC supplied over the AUX/MIC jack, pin #2.  I strapped the +8VDC on the header from PIN#2 (POWER(8V)) to PIN#16 (AUX/MIC PIN#2).  This should have supplied the +8VDc needed to power the electret element.  What may be missing is the ground return inside the mike.  I'll try to get the schematic for the mike, as you suggested.

Thanks, Joe, K1ike

I decided to pick up an inexpensive mike off of eBay for my RRC control unit.  It turns out that the eBay mike uses an electret mike element.  The electret mike evidently works when connected directly to the TS-480SAT, but not when connected to the Control RRC.  I wired the 8 volt lead in the Control unit to pin #2 of the mike connector and put JMP1 on, but it still does not work.

Am I missing something, or is it not possible to use this mike on the RRC Control unit for the TS-480?

Thank you for the reply and it's encouraging that you are looking into things.

I sometimes have the same problem.  I connect to the web interface, but nothing shows on the screen.  If I click between Info and status, a screen will eventually come up.  My RRC Radio software is 2.84

I turned on the Nextbook and now the Kenwood app is working!  I made no changes.  (The remote always worked with the TS-480 control head durning these failures, so the remote station does not have a problem).

I notice that the app now opens with the configuration page and CONNECT button.  The CONNECT button use to be on the main page.

The volume control is still touchy.  You have to be exactly on top of the slider or the page swipes to the setup page.

No replies yet, is anybody even reading this?

Now I was able to reload RRC-Nano K, but it is coming up as version Kenwood 1.3.2    Another change?  Now I cannot connect, although everything is filled in correctly.  The funny thing is that I hit done, but the Buffer size field is flashing, as if I have not finished filling it in.  (The buffer size is set to 7).  Before on ver 1.3.1 the dot in the right bottom corner was red.  Now with ver 1.3.2 the dot is green.

Was there another change?  Also, I don't see any documentation as to what to put into the COM port field.  Mine is set to 2.

I had Nano working fine until the 1.3.0 update.  I removed the E, K, and S apps and tried to reload RCC-NANO K.  Google Store still reports that K is Installed on my device.  I tried to install anyway and received "No carrier Digiin NX700QC" message.  See the attached screen photos.

I don't know where to go from here.  Everything (E,K and S) shows to be removed but Google Store says it is still installed.

Hello to All,

I have two remote stations that I would like to access from the same RRC-Control unit, a TS-480SAT and an Icom IC-706MKIIG.  My plan was to set up two profiles and switch between them when I want to change radios.  What I am finding is that I could probably avoid changing jumpers by wiring the AUX/MIC microphone cable differently for the Kenwood TS-480.  My problem is the JMP1 (DC to Mic) and JMP2 (8/9V) jumpers.  It looks like I would have to open the RRC-Control and move these jumpers in order to change from Kenwood to Icom IC-706 configuration.

Is there anyone out there using the RRC-Control box for different brand radios?  If so, have you figured out a way to easily switch between brand radios.

Thanks, Joe, K1ike

I'm trying to remote an Elecraft W-2 wattmeter that has an RS232 interface.  The DB9 connector has RTS/CTS looped toward what would normally be the computer.  I am trying to extend this connection using the virtual port driver to a distant computer.  It appears that the software on the computer wants to see a loop on RTS/CTS to provide flow control. (not sure of this yet).

I wonder if the Microbit Virtual Port Driver supports RTS and CTS?

I will try that.

The App now always opens to the setup screen.  This is different from the previous App.  Is this normal?

I found the problem.  When 2.0 AB loaded it did not copy the SIP Contact info properly from the previous version.  The DDNS server domain name had an error in it.

It is now working, but the operational page does not stay put.  Turning the frequency dial and volume control sometimes ends up swiping the screen back to the setup page.  I'm still looking for a fix for this.  This is my first Andriod device, so it may be operator error.  The previous version of Nano did not do this.  I'm using a Nextbook NX7000QC with Andriod Version 4.4.2

I was using my Nano today to do some testing at our remote site.  The Nano was working, but it appears that an automatic update was done while I was at the site.  Now the Nano will not work, will not connect to the site radio.

I don't remember setting this up for automatic updates.  My Nextbook was off for a couple of weeks.

What do I do now?

I have a WiFi guest network available to me at my RemoteRig radio site.  I do not have the ability to get port forwarding set on the guest network router.  Someone thought that I could set up a VPN tunnel from the radio site to the control head location.

Has anybody done this to get around the port forwarding requirements?
