Bootloader = N/A after firmware update to 2.77 ?

(1/2) > >>

N5CQ:
Just updated both units using USB and setup manager 1.25 to firmware version 2.77 and both show that version and I thought all was okay, but now the RADIO unit shows bootloader 1.9 but the CONTROL unit shows bootloader N/A :(

Where did I go wrong?

Jan (Microbit):
Since both of them works you did not go wrong at all. Instead it most likely is so that the N/A is due to that unit having an older boot loader which does not provide version info = an expected behavior due to how older boot loaders were designed.

N5CQ:
Looking at the unit via the web interface, it reports boot loader <= 1.25. I am re-installing everything tomorrow and hope to find that it all works okay. I have hardware version 4.

Jan (Microbit):
Are you sure about it saying that the boot loader is <= 1.25? It should not be possible since the current boot loader version is 1.11. I would have expected it to say boot loader <= 1.7 as 1.7 and older did not support the "main firmware" to get its version numbers. (Note that 1.7 is not to be interpreted as 1.70, but 1.07 as the version numbering are two numbers X.Y going from 0 and up)

Why are you re-installing again? Isn't it working ok now? Having different and older versions of boot loaders should not be a problem.

N5CQ:
It does say bootloader <=1.7.

I have moved the radio from one location to another and am re-connecting things after several months of delay.

I can see both units on the web interface, and all the settings look right, but I cannot connect in local mode yet.

I am continuing to work on it.
