Possible Win 10 Upgrade problem
« on: 2015-12-17, 04:45:19 »
My Dad just contacted me about his remotrig setup not connecting to my qth.

He is running an IC-706. We had everything up and running on his Win 7 computer. He upgraded to Win 10 and now he cannot get it to connect to my QTH.

I will be looking into this tomorrow. I'm pretty sure it is something on his end since he updated.
It should not be anything on my end because the remoterig is not connected to my Win10 computer.

If anyone has had an issue like this please let me know how you fixed it or where i should start looking.

I'm guessing it may have something to do with the com port assigned to the remoterig at his QTH.

He had and issue with another program after the upgrade and it was a com port issue.

Thanks for any other help in advance.

Hi,

We would be grateful if you execute this utility program:

http://www.remoterig.com/downloads/MicrobitDeviceManager_v1.4.zip

following these instructions:

1. Unzip the exe file to a directory of your choice
2. Open a command window as Adminstrator
3. Goto the directory you unzipped the exe file to
4. Type MicrobitDeviceManager
5. Answer 'y' on the first question if you are an administrator
6. Then just hit Enter on the following questions

You will end up with a notepad text file which you can send to us/attach to a post. It shows what our software thinks is installed and might help understanding what is causing problems.

Always include type of hard/software and version when asking for support.

Here are the 2 files for the "Body", remote head of the radio, my QTH.

I will send the files for my fathers later.

Problem solved.

It was my error. A few days ago I was using the antenna that is connected to the remoterig radio.

I forgot to turn the switch back.
