Tentec Orion setup
« on: 2016-11-11, 22:14:29 »
Ordered pair RCC 1258mkII on basis of uses described in description on web page under conventional PC remote.  But further looking in the manual, can find no information  configuring for the Tentec Orion. I have full computer control of the radio, tower raising, rotator, logging and can access the "Radio" computer over my LAN.  I ordered the units to simplify the whole set  up and to be able to connect audio to the transceiver.   I also anticipate adding an automatic amplifier to the setup.   Can you direct me to information  to configuration for setting up to use the Orion? I have computers at the  (Radio) and at the remote operating position connected via LAN.  Thank you.

Yes,Orion does have serial port, I am using radio control software to computer control Orion.
I am using the Kenwood, Elcraft (mode4) (I have other software for panadapter that uses Elcraft setup.  Not sure what baud rate to set? Elcraft uses 38900, that is what I am using.  I have the receive audio working through the control unit, but am have problems with microphone back to the radio. there is also "hum" coming from the radio unit into the audio input of  transceiver, cannot seems to get rid of it so far(am using same ps as transceiver). Any suggestions?     Chuck, W6ASO
