USB-Connection only usable for Setup Manager
« on: 2011-01-25, 21:14:17 »
Hello,
i can use the usb-connection for the setup manager but not for other features like cw-keying.
Following error message i found in the hardware manager:

"There was a probleme installing this hardware: Microbit RRC Virtual Comport, This device can not start (Code10)."

Any hints are welcome... OS is Windows XP SP3. No probs with other usb devices.

It seems for some reason the installation of the virtual com port fails. I suggest you search Windows Event Log, part "Application", for records with source "1274Serial" and read the error text for them. The actual error might be in the last part of the text. The "System" log might also show something. You might try to uninstall the ports first, clear the logs, and then reattempt installation. That way it's easier to see what might be in there caused by the failing installation.
Always include type of hard/software and version when asking for support.

I think that my problem is that i use windows xp 64bit...

This device cannot start. (Code 10). Reinstalling did't help. No hint over the event manager ...

Oops! XP 64 bit might surely be a problem! We have not tested it on that, and as such we don't really support it. Maybe the Vista/Win 7 64 bits driver would work, but it isn't tested by anyone as far as I know.
