Question re serial settings for Yaesu Twin mode

What exactly is the subtle difference between Mode 6 and Mode 7?  I've read the user manual, but I am having difficulty understanding the explanation.  Since I use N1MM Logger at Control RRC COM1 to control the radio, what different functionality would Mode 7 provide?

In mode 6 Radio-RRC com2 is transferred to Control-RRC com1 to be able to have a log program etc at the control-site

In mode 7 com1 in the radio-RRC is also "connected" to Radio-RRC com2 to be able to have a local PA, antenna switch etc connected to com1.
