Ts480 will not switch to transmit

Ts480 set up has worked for months on lan and wan.This past week, the remote will connect, hear audio, change bands , antenna tuner works fine, all remote head functions seem to work ok…..on ssb and AM when you hit the ptt on the mic, the receive audio drops out fine but the rig does not phase into transmit and there is no output power. You actually see the S meter continue to be active, but there is no transmit and no receive audio coming from the speaker…

With the head attached to the radio all functions work properly…

I have swapped the short connecting cables, opened both units and wiggled the jumper wires with the ptt pressed and there is no difference.

No idea how to proceed from here….Jim

Problem fixed…cables apparently do fail from time to time…..tnx for your input Mike…J
