Michael,

I answered this in another of your posts, but did you use the internal IP
address to connect to the radio RRC? You need to give 192.168.2.13
in the "SIP Contact" field under the radio tab. Everything should
otherwise work the same.

Michael,

Now that both RRC boxes are on your local LAN, you should address them
with your internal IP addresses, e.g. 192.168.1.10 or whatever they were
given by your router's DHCP server. Everything else should stay the same,
including the port changes. Just change it back when you move it to the
station again.

Skip, two inputs from my side:

1) RemoteRig now has supports for profiles, so you can switch between more than
    one radio. Therefore, only one RRC and panel or RRC PC Client on the user side
    is needed, unless you want to use both radios simultaneously.

2) You may wish to order the RRC PC Client from Sweden, since HRO doesn't carry it.
    This way, do do not need anything beyond your PC and this small dongle. See

I have a user that has a problem that I am unable to duplicate with my set-up.

His installation has been working just fine until now. He upgraded to be able to use
the new USB to COM2 feature of firmware 2.35.

However, he starts gets a loud hum come after about two minutes of turning the
TS-480 on, and the head turns off at that point. Here are some details:

- TS-480 head with RRC firmware 2.35 (upgraded shortly before problem started)
- New USB as serial feature enabled ("Use USB Com Port as COM2")
- Appears that the RRC maintains connection to station RRC after head turns off
- Cables (ethernet, RRC--> head) checked and ok
- Swapped power supply with no change
- Removing USB cable makes hum continuous
- Changing "Use USB Com Port as COM2" back to NO, solves the problem,
   but of course doesn't allow the CAT through USB

I can send an MP3 if someone wants to listen to the problem.

I would say that this is a bug in 2.35, but as I said, I can't duplicate it locally.

I am completely puzzled by your statements, sorry. It is really difficult
to follow you, which is why I suggested a call instead.

I suggest you concentrate on either an update over USB or browser,
but it seems that you are jumping back and forth. If you can call-up
the RRC over a browser, then I suggest you use that method. It takes
about a minute or so to load the firmware, then you need to click on the
info menu to see if the firmware has been updated, although I have never
experienced a problem using that method. The menu will NOT load
automatically, you will need to manually click on a menu or reload the page.

Thanks for the update, Guy.

I find that very strange, since Seeker only came out a year or two ago
at most, and the "D" controller has been around for at least 7 years and
surely has a much larger installed base. I guess Max must have an older
"C" controller and didn't realize this.

Thanks, Guy, that is nice of you. Seeker gave me a good impression at
first to use for when I use another program like Win-test, but I dropped
it when I couldn't get the Prosistel control working.

Since both of them are in Italy, I would think they could get things
working a bit quicker ;-)

Guy,

I also use a Prosistel rotor with my SteppIR, and I have never been
able to get it working with Seeker. There is no reason why it shouldn't
work, but it doesn't. I use XP.

I never put a lot of effort to get it working, since I use TRX-Manager
basically for everything (SteppIR, rotor, LP-100, Acom 2000a sync, etc.)

Hi Zach,

I have a 3 element SteppIR that I have been remote controlling for years.
In my case, I can also switch to 180 degree mode, etc., as well as retract
or calibrate.

In my case, I use VNC to control the software on a host PC, but there is no
reason what you can't connect it to the RRC's serial port, or use another
serial/ethernet server like one from Lantronix.

The software clients that I have used over the years are:

- TRX-Manager (my main logging and control software) http://www.trx-manager.com/

Hi Mike,

I didn't hear back from you, so maybe I didn't explain my question well enough:

The question is if I can also pass the CAT control through from COM2 to COM1 as
I do now with the normal RRC firmware. This means COM1 is mode 6, CAT to COM2.

If not, can this also be implemented in the Twin firmware, or must I install a Y-cable
to do this from COM2?
