can not connect

I have been using the system with great success last few months but when preparing for another trip I find that I can not connect.  I reviewed the configuration in each unit and nothing has changed.  I reset my router and opened all the ports again just as before.  When I try to connect I can hear the Icom 706 click but I get nothing on the screen and no audio.  My firmware is 2.6.6 and I am connecting through my hotspot on my iphone.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
