As both Mitch and Mike suggest - the rate has not be changed yet from 115200 and Larry N8LP does suggest he "will add a setup option to allow use of a slower baud rate". But not when .

It is suggested using a serial device server to solve the problem ... As you have used the Lantronix Mitch without success- has ANYONE got anything working with the LP100A remotely or do I do what you did and sell the unit!?

OK thanks Mike - understood .
I've joined the LP-100 forum - maybe someone has an answer there !
It's a great device ,and the serial port works fine with the LP-100 VCP and an FTDI Serial>USB convertor, so some more investigation might reveal the reasons.

Will report back if I find the answer

Thanks Mitch !
Well thats a HUGE dissappointment - I wonder why it doesn't work - maybe the RR is not quite so transparent as suggested !?
So what do people use to check power out ? I want to be able to check drive into an amp before switching it in circuit - hence the LP-100 !

Hi
I'm using a Telepost LP-100a unit . When I use it locally in the shack, with the LP-100 Virtual Control Panel it all works fine. (Rig is an IC-7100)
Remotely with Serial Com 1 set to Transparent and 19,200  8/1/0 at both ends and the same Serial to USB (FTDI also 19,200) convertor as tested in the shack I cannot get it to play. There are no crossovers, the display on the LP-100 is ok.
Any suggestions why it doesn't play ?

Bad news I'm afraid  :-\
My RRC was set to Iambic A so tried a change to Iambic B ... result - exactly the same issues , same irregular keying and jitter.
Seems several people are having WiFi unit issues elsewhere on the forum.

Any other suggestions re the problem ?

Same problem here !
I've tried with lots of different WiFi setups assuming it was lack of bandwidth ... It's OK on SSB/FM but CW gives drops and irregular characters .
Does anyone have any suggestions ? I've tried changing from Iambic A to Iambic B as suggested elswhere on this group - no difference.

Wow ! ... not tried it yet, but that's EXACTLY (even the same radio)the issue I have been getting ever since installing the WiFi unit  - no issues (that anyone can hear) on SSB/FM but CW is jittery and losing packets...
Anyone explain why ?

More when I have changed the settings...

Hi
I recently bought a WiFi unit , after several questions on here and other groups.
The RRC logs on ok (mostly) to the iOS device (iPhone6) but usually after having to reboot the RRC.
I waited several mintes this morning to check after your email, and discovered it will not log on to the iPhone unless the USB>PC connection is disconnected...then it was ok .
This probably doesn't help you, but let everyone know when you discover the problem!

So really , is NOBODY currently using or used an iPhone created hotspot for a WiFi connected RRC-1258MKII ??

Hi
I've been unsuccessfully trying use an iPhone 6 to create a "hotspot" for a TP-Link WiFi travel router (TL-WR902ac) , basically it will connect to an android hotspot or normal wifi system, but not the iOS one. The iPhone created hotspot is ok for other applications.

So my question is , if I purchase the WiFi interface for my RR-1258Mkll will it allow connections without problems to my iPhone hotspot ?
Is anyone else using an iPhone as a hotspot for remote operation without issues?

Rig is an IC-7100

Thanks

A contact with an FT8900 has tried his units in exactly the same way - and has EXACTLY the same results on his 8900 !
Is there a problem using FT8900 radio's does anyone know ?

Still no success I'm afraid, and beginning to feel the need to give up - and this is a really simple setup!

Could anyone send me a copy of their HTML settings for the FT8900 set up please ?

Thanks

I did yes - thanks for the thought though Mitch!

I did wonder if I could use a X over ethernet cable to rule out any problems with the "switch"

I am still unsure if the units might be faulty ... still searching.

Configuration, RRC 1258 / RRC 1258MkII to FT8900 help please
« on: 2016-01-31, 18:09:29 »
Hi all
I've recently acquired a pair of RRC 1258MkIIs units - uploaded V2.87 and they both have V6 firmware. I've tried and tested as far as I can, all Links and jumpers set for the FT8900. Using the Setup Manager I've set IP configs/Netmask etc and radio parameters and everything looks (to me) ok (19200;8;1;N etc)  Both units are "Found" going through Setup manager and appear ok. I'm currently only using a simple switch to connect them together in the shack, so all within the same LAN. When I press "ON" on the remote radio head there is a click from the speaker, the mic lights up but NO data appears on the screen. (Connecting just the "control" and "radio" together all works normally)

They are not brand new units (having been used with a pair of K3s) and they MAY be faulty but I can't prove this currently . The green power light is solid after a few seconds of power on. The ethernet connectors have a data flashing indicator and the aux/mic connectors have red/amber lights for a few seconds after switch on.

Any comments please to help sort this VERY simple set up very gratefully received - have I forgotten something obvious!? I don't want to move further forward without getting this current setup working.
