Hello,

I have new Kenwood RC-480 KIT and new RRC-1258MkIIs Control Unit for sale. Both purchased this year, tested but never used after that.

RC-480 KIT is an extra Control Head for Kenwood TS-480 (Head Only) which includes the face plate (the control head), mount and hardware.

More info:
http://www.difona.de/details.php?&language=en&ID=1&artmatch=kwrc480

Great option for multi-acces to radio RRC with extra RC-480 and control RRC or as a spare replacement head for TS-480.

Will ship worldwide.

Contact me for more info if you are interested: rbajuk@gmail.com

General discussion forum / TS-480 fixed audio out
« on: 2013-11-02, 10:24:21 »
Hi,

I just wonder where are guys taking "audio out" from control RRC to PC soundcard input using TS-480. I know it can be taken from SP jack or TTL on control RRC or speaker jack from TS-480 head but I just wonder if there is a "fixed level audio out" option.

Are all those audio outputs volume knob depended or is there a way to take fixed audio output from TS-480 - maybe ANO on pin 5 on TS480 data connector.

What is the recommended setup for data receiving part  ?

Problems solved and nothing is wrong with Edimax or Linksys router or RRC but with operator:-) It is all my mistake / error.

JMP2 on radio RRC was set wrong to 0 instead of 1. Grrr...

Everything works nice now and I am sorry for the bandwidth.

I am preparing remote station using TS480 and pair of Remoterig boxes. I have tested everything in my home LAN first, than on remote side. Everything works great in LAN and WAN, no issues once I FWD ports and when I get radio switced ON.

I am having same issue when I hooked all together in my LAN at home or via WAN on remote location, setup was like this:

- both RRC updated to firmware 2.72
- remoterig strips wired to "new model" of TS480
- both RRC accesible from browser and I did basic setup for TS480
- radio and control head are connected to RRCs with 6 pin data cable, no other connections at this time
- port FWD OK (13000,13001,13002...), RTS Status excellent (60), UDP cmd status OK (40)

My problem is that when I press "on" switch on ts480 head in LAN or via Internet red led light on radio turns on and I hear relay on the radio, RRC status goes to radio "ON" but control head of TS480 does not turns on.  I need to press and hold "ON" button on TS480 again after about 20s to get radio head alive and after that works OK. Switching off radio via Remoterig works OK, but I need to press ON button twice again in about 30sec to get radio (TS480 head) on again.

If i connect head directly to radio without remoterig rig ON and OFF works normal.

Is that latency when switching on normal on Remoterig or should I look at some other setup parameters in RRC or radio.

I understand that VPN tunnel might be a solution... but VPN tunnel connects two PCs or 2 routers and  using RRC pair I have to connect 2 LANs in order to establish RRC Control - RRC Radio connection (RRCs are usually connected to the router on both sides). I might be wrong as I am not the IT / network expert

crazy

Then a VPN tunnel initiated from the 3G/4G side is probably the only solution

Hi Mike,

Unfortunately all prepaid 3G/4G internet networks in S5 have internal - private IP .. They are offering business contracts (private APN)  but this comes quite expensive (at least 3 SIM cards + fees for incoming traffic)

P.S.: Mike, please move the topics to RRC 12558 English (it belongs more to general topic there and not under Webswitch 1216H)

Hi

I know there were discussions before... Is there a way to use RRC if using 3G internet on the radio side -  all ports are blocked by ISP (behind NAT), so no public IP address and direct connection is not possible.

Any VPN, virtual HUB or similar workaround ...?

TNX Mike :-)

JMP5 = closed for all radios but FT-857

Hi,

I am trying to get my remote station up for the first time :-)

Now I am setting straps and jumper for TS-480 (new version) in the control RRC:
- 4 straps according to the manual (Configuration type 1)
- JMP1 (open, dynamic mic)
- JMP2 (closed - 9v)
- JMP3 (closed)
- JMP4 (not present in ver. 7)
- JMP5 ?? - should be opened or closed for TS-480?

Is that OK?
