just find an old entry here:

"It's normal that no update is done if the ip is not changed, the RRC checks the ip all the time and only send update if the IP is changed. If you go there the important thing to check is if the DNS (not ddns) status is ok.
The DNS  is needed for the ddns to work. Send me a copy of the status page where you can see both the DNS and ddns status."

I will investigate a little more and try to obtain a new IP at the remote site and will see, if the status page shows an update.

Thank you!

Dear OM's,

I hope somebody could help me with my problem.

The 1216H Webswitch is running since 7 years (tnx remoterig) without problems.

Now - maybe - I have troubles with the watchdog (settings are unchanged, ping to 8.8.8.8).

Problem: At the website "http://ddns.remoterig.com/status/" the last update shows the 31.10.2025 at 12h UTC..

As far as I remember this should be updated every 10 minutes or so.

BUT: In the "System Info" of the webswitch I could see the status "Ping status (watchdog)   OK [38 ms]"

This sounds like the webswitch could ping the 8.8.8.8 adress (but no update at the status-website).

When using a not existing IP for making the watchdog-ping the watchdog goes into action and switched off and
restart as defined in the settings of the watchdog - so it seems to work!

So before travelling to the remotesite and trying to plug off the CAT-cable of the webswitch (the watchdog must
go to action) - maybe somebody could help me to understand why the status-website shows no update since 31.10. ?

Thank you very much for reading and maybe a short reply!

Tnx again Mike,

I did it today, made all configuration again - and it works !

I understand, you suggest a strong password and user under IP-Settings "webpage user - view + save" correct?

Thank you again for your help!

Tnx Mike for the info.

As I maybe have to do a complete new installation, is there a pdf-manual available?

(of course I have screenshots from all configurations INCLUDING the password - but it does not work any more with that,
I think it was the default-one "wlxxxx or so and as user RC-1216 xxx ). I didn't change that.

I never needed a password when doing changes in config - only Submit + "apply changes" and it works - until today, so
I am a little bit confused,hi.

Tnx again for your time dear Mike!

Thank you dear Mike,

I don't find a manual for exactly this switch (only for the "RC") - I think I remember that is a speciell USB Cable,
Mini-USB to norma USB or so?

(I have to dismantle a whole switching unit, so it would be nice to get the right cable, before doin this)

Tnx dear Mike and have a nice weekend!

Hello maybe, somebody can help me to bring up the webswitch and all around to live :-)

We hade and massive Internet drop out. Now everything is on again and works, only the webswitch not.

I can not make any changes to the configuration requests a password and user.

I noticed the password and user, but it does not work any more.

In the last time only one action (without user and passord) was made: Switching off the Watchdog function.

Now after Internet-repair I can not do any "Submit" any more and many configurations have gone I did serveral years ago..

Can somebody help me to find how to login again (I have not need that the last 6 years..)

Thanks so much - everthing is connected to switching box with the Webswitch as the "Master" .

Tnx so much for any help.

Dear OM's, is there anywhere in Europe a possibility to buy this webswitch? Can't find a dealer, who can deliver it.

Will the DNS - Service still be available? (as it is not changeable as far as I know)

Considering a spare Webswitch, if the perfect for years working one will be stop working. Anything for remote switching
is built "around" this Webswitch, so a fast replacing would be nice (in case...)

Tnx for reading and maybe a short info!

Hello, just a short question.

Is the webswitch just out of stock or discontinued? Seems not be available at the moment...

Tnx
