I never expected the box with its limitations to do the actual streaming, but
some method of accessing a stream over IP for rebroadcast would be great.

I also have the same request. We have two RemoteRig (TS-480) installations
with nine users each, they would like the possibility to listen in.

In one of the locations, there is a PC running 24/7. We installed a normal audio
splitter cable and ran the second line to the PC's sound card input. We found
that using Teamspeak was better than Skype, since it is a permanent "room"
where you can log-on and listen.

The second location is PC-less, using only serial port forwarding (Lantronix). There
we still need a solution, which we would also use at the first location if possible.

We use the Ubiquiti Bullets http://www.ubnt.com/bullet a lot in Bavaria and Austria to connect systems
up to 50km apart. I bought a set to link my station and QTH, also 2 km apart. I wanted to make sure that
the link works in any weather and this solution is great and not expensive.

Hi Dave,

Yes, it works great. All you have to do is:

1) Install the Setup Manager, so that you have the driver installed
2) Check under Windows which serial port number was assigned
3) change the menu setting "Use USB Com Port as COM2" to yes
4) plug-in your USB cable and change your program to use that serial port

Note that there were some bugs in the first version, but it appears to be stable now.

Hi Mike,

There is no need for a "SIP Contact" field on the radio RRC, because that is the contact point
itself. The radio RRC's external IP address is the SIP contact for the control RRC.

The "SIP Password" is some extra security to keep someone from connecting to your RRC. If you leave
the password open and don't change the "SIP port" under the advanced settings, anyone with
a default RRC can connect to your system if they know your DynamicDNS address. Of course, they
would need to use the same hardware (e.g. TS-480 head) to actually do something, but I just wanted
to point out how important it is to change these defaults.

Jan,

I have a report from the user that the hum problem has NOT happened
again since the update to 2.36. Looks like you may have found the
problem, but of course I will keep you informed if he does have a
problem again.

I have suggested that method to several users, but I understood K7CF's statement
as switching specifically between the TS-480 internal keyer and the RRC's keyer. I
was wondering what he was writing about. I think he has confused something.

I was reading the eHam reviews of the RemoteRig, and came across the one written by
K7CF on January 2, 2011. In his review, he writes:

"I tried CW and you can either use the internal keyer in the ts480sat (DEFAULT) or you can
use the Key input of the built in keyer of the Control black box. I use the internal keyer in the
TS480SAT."

I use the TS-480 as well, but have never seen a way to switch between the two keying methods,
except for accessing the TS-480 internal keyer with software and the RRC keyer with a paddle. Am
I missing something here? K7CF did not respond to my mails to two different addresses.

Thanks, Lars, yes, I have used that program for several users. In this case, I also need
to explain hardware as well as software. I have been able to talk him through firmware
updates, etc., but will of course revert to Teamviewer if he has problems.

Thanks for the great news, Jan.

I was about to get the user to make some tests removing the power cable (it is a notebook PC),
but I will put that on hold until 2.36 is out. He first removed the headset as Guy suggested, but
that didn't make a difference. If you need a beta tester, I can send the firmware to him.

Part of my problem is this user is not very good with computers and lives a long ways from me.
