YAESU FT857 PTT NOT WORKING
« on: 2016-07-05, 10:08:32 »
Everything seems works nice in local network, as well in two different networks. But, the PTT does not work at all.
Either in local network or in two different networks.
Have tried several adjustings with jitteer buffer size and jitter delay, withour result.
The mic cable i made are tested and is ok. Nothing wrong with the mic, tested direct connected to radio, works nice.
The wiring inside both RRC are checked and tested with ohm meater, all ok.
Anyone with a good idea???

There is no settings involved in PTT. Only cables and straps. if the speaker is not muted when PTT you have problem with the straps in the control-RRC if it's muted the problem is in the radio-rrc.
Only standard mic is working not the remote control mic.

Thanks for reply, then i beleive it's the mic. I'm using the remote controlled mic. All strappings are checked end checked again and i don't understand there can any mistakes on the strapping. Try to fix another mic.

The Remote control mic MH-59A8J mic can't be used easily as it need separat 5V power to work. It's better to use the standard MH-31 etc.

Because i borrow the complete system fra a ham friend, he did not deliver the original mic in first place.
Today i got the MH31 mic and all seems to work nice now.
Next step is to place the radio at the cottage QTH and then test from home QTH.
I have done a lot of remote with TS-480 some years ago, but sold the system when mooving to a new adress. Then the noice level here have increased.
Trying again and hope it will be better. Not so much noice at the cottage QTH.
Thanks again.
