Kenwood TS-480, wont power off
« on: 2013-05-31, 22:02:38 »
For the last few weeks my once perfectly working TS-480 Remoterig RCC-1258 MKII setup will no longer turn of via the control head power button.
once pushed in it goes off for a second or 2 then back on again.  Much like a bounce.
Also, using the latest firmware release 2.26, I even went back to an earlier version but no change.

I have a friend using the same setup and he is also experiencing the same condition.
Any ideas?

2.26 is a very old firmware, but you have activated auto connect thats why it reconnect after power off.

My bad, the firmware is V 2.72.
I turned Auto Connect OFF and the radio would not come on, so had to put back in the Auto Connect ON mode.

Hope someone has the answer...Thanks...

for TS-480 the Auto Connect should be OFF no disccussion. I think you have not the correct program mode, you should use mode 5 for TS-480.

Admin;

I am in Mode 5.
Don't know why Auto Connect OFF did not work last night but today turning it OFF seems to work for now.

Thanks...
